Our server was the redeeming quality of this place. She was kind, charming and provided perfect service.
The food looked amazing, but the chicken and veggies were very bland, but the steak was amazing.
The atmosphere was good, not very loud.
What I absolutely didn't like was that the table was very sticky and dirty. I wiped it with a towelette I had, and I posted the photo of how dirty it was.
To summarize, it would be better if the food was seasoned just a bit more and the tables were cleaned, otherwise it was enjoyable.
There were six in our party. The waitress was super sweet. Three of us asked for our meals made slightly different. Two of us vegan (they have jack fruit tacos). They were really accommodating and remembered everyone's orders.
The food was excellent.
The Mariachi band made the evening memorable. Job well done; they were great. Saying farewell to my daughter as she heads off to Japan.
Very attentive service, maybe overly so. I don't think a server should ask whether you want anything else every five minutes. I felt pressured to order more and it worked. The two salsas that came with the chips were good. The shredded beef taco was tender but not garnished with radishes or fresh onions or cotija-- a little lettuce but nothing flavorful-- and the beef didn't have a kick of its own. I know that's what hot sauce is for but it wasn't on the table and I neglected to ask for it. El Cazador is a nice setting for a family dinner with a cheerful fireplace on a cold night and colorful decorations. I'll probably go there again... and again. :-)
The enchiladas suiza were good, and the added on deep fried jalapeños were a nice addition. I also added garlic shrimp on the side but they were flavorless and cold. While the serving staff was friendly they really didn't check on me much.
I don't come back home more than once every 3 years or so, but I make sure to visit El cazador every time.

Best Mexican food I've had in years, I mean years. I'm not from oak harbor I reside in Bellingham, but went to oak harbor to see if a friend's tattoo shop was still there. On the way back home to Bellingham we stopped and I had there deep fried cheesey tacos with consom sauce to dip them in and OMG let me tell you melt in your mouth. The server was very polite and helpful always making sure we didn't need anything he kept our drinks filled, he was just all around wonderful. The atmosphere was so delightful and there were real lit candles at each table. I give this place a 10 🌟 rating. They go above and beyond.
Absolutely my go to place for Mexican food. Their Enchiladas Rancheras is very good as is the white queso dip and table guacamole. Prices are reasonable and service has always been outstanding.
Ample parking, including handicap accessible parking.

Food was great! Rellano on point! Price reflected good value. Staff was pleasant. 6 piece mariachi was AMAZING! Highly recommend the Friday night live music and dinner drink combo.
Really great mexican food!!! Clay was our delivery driver and he was very pleasant. We just moved here from SoCal and at least we know we can always get great food from here! Can't wait to go eat at the restaurant.
