I visited here for the first time for a business Christmas party, I wasn't sure what to expect. When I drove in to park I was impressed with the building which looked like it was newly constructed and nice finishes you can tell they went an extra mile to leave a lasting impression. The inside was equally impressive and reminded of that of an upscale China restaurant you would visit in New York or New Jersey.
We had a a buffet style lay out that was brought straight to our table where the hostess orderd just about everything on the menu, so when I say I've tried almost everything on their menu, it's quite true, literally. some of my favorites were the kung pao chicken and szechuan beef, as well as the hot and sour soup....all so yummy and delicious. No cutting corners here. The service was as friendly and prompt. We had a party of 23 and everything went smoothly. I highly recommend this place and I've been back twice, chicken wraps are definitely something to try as well
The food is good especially the sweet and sour pork. But the hot mustard has a weird taste and the almond chicken has terrible gravy the chicken chow mein did not have enough veg. But we love the house fried rice.
Food was excellent, portions are large so if you want different things either bring a friend to share or be prepared to pay more and take the rest home.
Conveniently located next to the hotel so that’s a bonus for travelers.

Sat in the bar and it was a little loud if attempting to visit or talk. But the food was good, staff attentive and a good evening out was enjoyed. Never had sizzling rice soup before, it was very tasty (we had the family #3, plenty of food).
Love the staff! Everyone is friendly. Some of the best cocktails in town, so happy to dine in again! Definitely recommend for everything to visit here! They also have rooms available for large group reservations.
Very clean and amazing service! Everything came out quick and my drink never fell below half a cup. For an appetizer we got the pot stickers. Whatever sauce they had with them was very good and had a bit of a kick that we enjoyed. For the main meal, I ordered the mandarin shrimp and a side of brown rice. It was good- not great and the entree prices are a bit on the expensive side. (Of note, it was just shrimp- no veggies or other filler, just to cage your expectations). We will definitely be going back and possibly trying their happy hour and some of the noodle options. Definitely don’t count it out, the service alone makes it worth the trip!
Great service at the bar. Excellent Old Fashion. Egg drop soup and the Pot Stickers were off the hook. Could eat those all day.
We've been coming to China city for years whenever we visit Whidbey Island. Its always provides consistently good food and quick and polite service. Wish we had one closer to home!
Always the BEST place for wonton soup in the PacNW. The service is fantastic, clean and prompt. I come here many times a year from out of town and have never had a poor meal. Thank you China City!

Pricing is on par with other restaurants in town so very reasonable.
Portions are robust, I always leave with a to go bag. I do however recommend going at lunch time because fried rice is included with your meal. Dinner time they seem to charge for any rice to accompany meals.
If your visiting Oak harbor it is also conveniently located right in same parking lot as best western.
