10/10… Service, food, the view…all were on point. Great family atmosphere as well. Love staying at this hotel when visiting the city but stayed closer to MSG this time…still had to visit.
It's a hotel lounge/restaurant (part of Renaissance hotel) and the menu is pretty small, but has decent drinks offering. The food is actually not bad despite the very small number of choices. Burger is ok, salad is fresh, French fries is adequately savory. The pizza is a little disappointing and probably aimed more towards kids. The kettle chips is so-so because the flavor was good but not as crispy as it should be.
That being said, the selling point of this place is the location! It's right up facing Times Square and has probably the best view of the New Years ball if you ever decide to watch it in person (which in my personal opinion isn't worth the time and effort after doing it once).
It's fun to eat dinner while people watching and seeing all the giant screens in Times Square.
I booked a table for 4 for drinks. It was very easy. We arrived and were shown to our table. The views were amazing from the lounge no matter where you were sitting. The only annoying part was the servers coming to the table when you are not even half way through your drink asking do you want another. Very pushy to give you another drink. Nice experience other than that.
One word sums up our experience at the R Lounge: INCREDIBLE. Sylvia and her team went out of their way to ensure my daughter’s Sweet 16 celebration was exceptional. The service, food, drinks, and ambience were second to none. I flew my family up from DC to give my daughter an extra-special celebration and Sylvia did not disappoint. They seated us promptly, curated a custom playlist for my daughter based on her faves, and brought out some tasty birthday treats for desert. This is going to be a night my daughter won’t forget, and we’ll be sure to tell our friends in DC how extraordinary we were treated.
Great venue, great atmosphere with great drinks. Service was brilliant with good views of times square. Great little find and we were lucky to get a table with a view
Had an amazing dinner at the R Lounge! Glenn, Horatio, and Kelly were the BEST!!! The view was spectacular, food was delicious and service was the cherry on top. Everything Kelly recommended exceeded my expectations. A family of 5 sat near by and their children were well behaved and enjoyed the view as much as I did. The energy was spectacular. Very affordable and delicious! To Kelly and Horatio thanks for making dining alone not feel so alone. I loved the care and attention you not only gave me but the guest around me.
Will definitely be back.

The view is better than the food and the service can be a bit slow and uncaring. I tried this place twice: at night and during the day. Night is prettier since it looks out on Time Square. The lobster roll is fishy but the grilled cheese and bacon was tasty. Best thing on the menu is 99 cents: the old bay seasoned potato chips. Quite good. Skip dessert, they aren't very good.
Had my birthday here and it was amazing!!! Staff were over the top great, our waiter was awesome, and the restaurant was just beautiful!
A hidden gem for any trip to NYC!! In such a busy place as Times Square, I was amazed at how spacious and nice this place was! I went 2-3 times and back when I went it was open for lunch but this can make a great dinner spot too! Food and drinks were enjoyed by my whole table, the staff were friendly, and the view of course is incredible! I recommend to anyone going to visit!
Amazing views of the heart of NY Time Square! Great drinks. Decent food with a selection for anyone. One of a kind menu that featured Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, Pizza and NY Style Pretzels. The drinks are just as great as the views!!!
