We tried to go last month but didn't have a reservation .. . . at 6:30 on a Wednesday. This month we made a reservation at 6:30 on a Wednesday. The place was packed! From the hostess to our server, the professionalism was spot on. The mussels even more so. Great experience - even better mussels! A must!
Incredible evening. Had a wonderful Pilsner to begin. Doing the Orthodox Lenten fast so this was a dream find for me. Had the Thai mussels. Absolutely divine. Perfectly cooked mussels with perfect Thai sauce! It was so good I had to stop and reflect. Since I had been such a good boy and resisted the carbs for weeks, I decided to go for the dessert donuts. Salted caramel, blueberry, chocolate, peanut butter. Love the ambience, art, and a superb waiter Jack!
Came here on a Tuesday evening to celebrate my birthday with family and friends . I made the reservation for 6 but had an extra person they did not give me an easy and were accommodating. We also brought a cake there is a $5 cake fee per person, a little pricey. The service was amazing the staff helped us to understand the menu and order the right about of food for the table. We did three pots of mussels, scampi, parm, and thai . That was definitely our favorite, we also had the lobster roll, fish sandwich, fish tacos, calamari, lastly we also tried the whipped ricotta. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed absolutely everything. It was delicious. Fulfilled my mussels craving .
Absolutely amazing mussels tucked away at this gem. Probably the best (flavorful, fresh, juicy) oysters I’ve ever had. Highly recommend the Parma mussels. Dipping the bread in the sauce is a must! Great place to stop for lunch before an afternoon at the Met or walking around Central Park.
The staff was super nice, helpful. I sat outside and they occasionally checked up on me and whenever I asked for something they were so fast in getting it for me. The food was delicious. So good. I didn’t have much but I can tell that good is cooked with love. They’re truffle fries!!! Omg some of the best I’ve ever had. Oysters were super fresh and tasty. I loved this place. Highly recommend.
Their fish dip is the reason I went back, it was so well seasoned and has a hint of smoky flavor, so delicious!! The Parma mussels are so tasty too, we finished them before we took photo lol
Always exceeding expectations! We’ve been coming to Flex Mussels for years and the new location is even better than it was before. The food is fresh and delicious. Some of the best Oysters and Mussels you can find! The entire staff team works together so well! From the drinks from the bar to extra refills of bread add up to all perfection. Great restaurant and fantastic team!
Stopped in for the new happy hour 3-5 pm and grabbed a rye cocktail and a dozen fresh oysters. Perfection! Fresh fresh oysters and the perfect rye cocktail, think super smooth Sazerac cocktail!
Came back for dinner…and dessert. The fried clams…cooked to perfection! Tender and “sweet” with the perfect combo of breading and clam belly. Aioli sauce to die for…
Then the Lobster frites but with mashed potatoes instead of fries…so much lobster meat!! All prepared in bite sized pieces with a bath of drawn butter. Amazing!
Finally dessert…a half order of donuts…one filled with dark chocolate and the other caramel…it’s true, always room for dessert!! And Sambuca!!!
The other thing I wanted to mention is the staff. Superb service. Every detail.
Such a cute place with really good food! We had the san danielle mussels, scampi mussels lobster roll, the bib salad and the crab guacamole. Everything was really good!!
Pretty good food and service. The spacing of tables can feel a bit crammed. The food was great with a small but nice selection of oysters and a bunch of appetizers and mussel flavors to choose from. Very friendly and attentive staff.
Flex mussels has reopened in Beyoglu's previous spot. The first floor is very nice. The upstairs is not as nice of an atmosphere. If you are familiar with their previous location, the vibe is very different and not as nice. The menu is the same though. They also have an enclosed outdoor seating area.
Lots of different mussel options in different broths and the oysters are also good here. Make a reservation as this place gets packed any night.
This place…where to begin. Such a beautiful spot in the city. The food, the ambience, and the service are fantastic. The minute you walk in, you’re greeted by an amazing staff that are happy to welcome you to the IT spot of NYC. I highly recommend this place for dinner and/or brunch. You will leave wowed by the charm and amazing food and service this beautiful spot has to offer.
