I had a good experience at the Maple Street Patisserie. Maybe because I wandered in at the same time as a local who recommended the carrot muffin to me. It was moist and sweet.
Jack is always lovely and the food is beyond good, never disappoints. 100% worth checking out if you’re near (or far). Muffins are always perfect, and the danishes.
I cannot say enough about Ziggy and a beautiful and delicious cake that he created for my daughter's bridal shower!!!!
Please do look closely at the delicate and intricate detail! Its truly a total work of art as you can see!
Take a look too at the beautiful petit fours and pastries!!!! What a treat! He personally delivered this and I was blown away!!
My sincere thanks to my neice Ashley for ordering this for my daughter ! What a SWEET gift!!! Thanks too, to Ziggy!!!!
I went in an asked for a challah. They had challah which is great. The man asked me if I wanted raisin or plain. I told him that I wanted plain he told me it was hard to tell sometimes. He handed me a challah. I told him it looked like raisin. He assured me it was plain. I got home and it was raisin. Raisins are just pretty gross. Not sure why people even like raisin challah but that’s a conversation for another time and place.
I have never written a review, but I absolutely love this place! I discovered it about two weeks ago, and I have returned regularly since then. I am extremely picky about pastries, but I don't have a single complaint about this place. The quality of Maple Street Patisserie's food is evident with every bite. Their biscuits are perfectly cloud-like and fluffy. Their donuts are scrumptious without being overly sweet. I could go on and on about this place. Today, I accidentally stumbled in thirty minutes after closing, craving a jalapeño sausage croissant (absolutely delectable by the way--100/10 recommend). The lovely person that usually works the front counter went back reopened the store and heated me up the croissant I wanted. This is just one example of how Maple Street Patisserie goes above and beyond for their customers. You won't find better pastries or service in New Orleans. If you find yourself in the area, you must stop by! You won't regret it.
Lovely local bakery with a friendly, attentive gentleman behind the counter. We added a donut to our order at the last minute and can confirm it is the best glazed donut in the city. We'll be back!
Absolutely Fabulous!! Jack was/is a joy. So very good at what he does. The carrot cake is wonderful
Is there a betting bakery in New Orleans? A resounding no!
We have traveled all over Europe and lived in Manhattan for 25 years before returning to New Orleans. Top of our list was to find the best bakery in town, and after trying three or four, we discovered Maple Street Patisserie. All of their baked goods are superior in every way, and the Manager, Jack made us feel like long term customers in an instant, plus in addition to the world class baked goods offered up, he makes some exquisite meatballs and other Italian specialties. I am most thankful that we found it early on.
I just saw the response to my original post- and I have to say I was really impressed by it. The response feels genuine & like I said before- I know how hard it can be to be constantly cheerful for the public. We’ll be back and I’m changing my rating to five starts. I really appreciate the apology and the response.
Original Post: We've been going here for years and years. The staff changes constantly so service has always been so so (although if you are lucky enough to catch Ziggy, an owner, he's amazing). I come from a restaurant family, and I'm well aware of how difficult it is to deal with the public and so I don't usually get offended by a salty attitude. This morning I was bringing my girls to school and we stopped in- they got their usual, a cinnamon roll for one and a jalapeño sausage croissant for the other. We stepped outside to eat: they usually warm the croissant, but this morning it wasn't warmed. I told my daughter to go back inside and ask them to warm it (I believe that it's Ziggy's bro-in-law working the counter)- she was nervous and I told her it would be fine, they weren’t busy and to go ahead. Well no- she got a lecture about how she was supposed to ask when it was ordered, that he usually won't heat the food if you ask after it's ordered. After the lecture he did warm it, but she was mortified. She’s 13, very soft spoken and very polite.
I don't understand this- but I don't need to. There are plenty of other bakeries we can give our money to, so no worries Patisserie- you won’t have to warm our pastries anymore.
We love this neighborhood gem. Fantastic selection of pastries, both savory and sweet. Come support an amazing local business!
