We were looking for some good fish tacos and googled Best Fish Tacos in NOLA and Sarita's popped up. It did not disappoint. They were fresh, hot and delicious. They are made with flounder which is one of my favorite fish. It was definitely the best fish taco I've had. I loved that I could order a taco alone without having to buy a meal. Prices are very reasonable. The atmosphere is nothing to rave about - but I didn't go there for a fine dining experience. Every table gets free chips and queso instead of the typical salsa. I didn't drink any margarita's, but that seems to be the popular drink of the night. I will definitely go back.
Sarita's has a plain and even "tumbledown" exterior and interior appearance (a dive?). The waitress was friendly and helpful. I ordered the Steak Tacos, and they were simply delicious. My partners remarked that their orders (flautas and the Steak Plate) were also very good and enjoyable. The appetizer chips, cheese sauce, and salsa were also quite nice. I would recommend this place and certainly return. RJT
We decided to try out this place. The food was amazing. Nicaraguan tacos were amazing. The empanadas are also out of this world!! We will definitely be coming back to this place again!!
Holy... Empanadas and chorizo tacos. Amazing.
Can't wait to go back!!. After reading great reviews of Sarita's we decided to give it a try and I am so happy we did. Good food, good atmosphere, friendly staff and very affordable. The Empanadas(Meat Pie) are the best!!. We came back thursday night and we tried the ribeye tacos, Havana Plate and the Flan. Another one we loved was Tacos Nicaraguenses. I am sure we will be regulars.
Amazing!!!. I'm so glad I found this place!! I feel like I've struck gold! I love the fact that they give you chips and cheese instead of chips and salsa. The food was awesome as well as the service. Everything was really fresh. This will def be one of my regular places to go :)
Best Latin mix food ever in if u don't like u have no taste in good good food
Created an account to review this place.. Wow, talk about amazing mexican food. When I first got my plate of pulled pork, I was disappointed. It did not look very appetizing at all and I thought I was going to have to hunker down and power through a bad lunch. I took my first bite and was BLOWING AWAY. This was the best tasting pulled pork I've ever had. Love it and look forward to visiting again.
Great food. I had the Cuban sandwich and a fish taco. The cuban sandwich wasn't out of this world but it was good. The fish taco is what I'll come back for.
Very good Mexican. On the menu, they advertise being a fusion restaurant. If having salads makes a restaurant Latin fusion, so be it. To me, it's a solid Mexican restaurant that offers a healthier version of some Mexican classics. The restaurant is fairly comfortable but basic. The service is decent to good. The chips and queso, which are free, are great. The menu is simple and to the point. The food is excellent and simple.
Each time I go I cannot get away from the grilled chicken dish. A butterflied and thinly sliced breast of chicken is grilled with lime, lemon, and salt and pepper. It's a perfect way to cook the chicken. The results are marvelous. That plate comes with rice and black beans with homemade tortillas. For $9, it is a great and healthy Mexican dish.
Either Saritas or Panchitas is the best Mexican restaurant in Orleans Parish. I think Saritas is more consistent and healthier, but Panchitas has a more extensive menu.
I'm so happy that I live two blocks away from Sarita's! It's such a laid back, comfortable atmosphere, with really nice staff, and tasty food at affordable prices. The limited time special for 2 for 1 Margaritas, and the craving for authentic carne asada truck tacos lured me in. I ordered 2 Grilled Ribeye Tacos with cilantro, onion, and guacamole and a margarita. It's delicious, flavorful, and very filling...which is just what I wanted/needed. After drinking 3 lime margaritas, I ventured to try the mango margarita, and it was terrific! I also love the local artwork displayed! This isn't the typical Mexican restaurant...they don't play traditional music, and I appreciate that! It's super fusion, super authentic, super local, super affordable, and super satisfying. I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a great lunch/dinner, and I will be bringing friends here to enjoy Sarita's with me!
I live in the neighborhood and Sarita's is on our short list of go to places. The folks who run it are very friendly and the food is great. Prices are very reasonable. They have an herb sauce that is one of the best condiments I have ever used.
A nice quaint little restaurant with a great atmosphere. It was clean and orderly. They had a good variety of background music playing and the staff was very friendly. Excellent Margaritas, and delicious food. The dishes came out hot and were freshly made. I definitely recommend giving this place a try for lunch or dinner.
I wasn’t sure we would find good Hispanic food down in Louisiana, but this place proved otherwise. A great balance of Tex-Mex and great, filling portion sizes.
For something quick and enjoyable, this place is great in terms of cost and quality.
Brennan was an awesome server. He slayed fr serving. Super fast with Brennan as your server. 10/10 recommend brennan
Huge tvs to watch any shows on.
Great place on Prytania uptown area to grab food or drinks! The people are warm and helpful. Their food is fresh and process are very affordable.
The place is small, but charming. Beautiful art on the walls which makes for nice atmosphere and entertainment. Their empanadas app is absolutely delicious- the meat is juicy and tasty 😋. Fish tacos listed as flounder, but the fish did not taste like flounder to me , however they were not bad. Place is family friendly, service was great. I Would come back.
Incredibly delicious food with impeccable service! If you enjoy Cuban cuisine this is the place for you! I would recommend any of the salads as well as the steak. I highly recommend this restaurant for any person who needs a quick break from Cajun food and wants a taste of the Latin World. Que rico!!!!
Nice place on Freret. Kinda small. Homey feel. The cooking is done on a grill by the tables. It's no pressure and good, polite service.
THE FOOD: You get chips and queso dip to start, tasty! I added Sriracha for a little more flavor and heat. Btw, there is only Sriracha and one other hot sauce on the tables.
I ordered the Super Bowl, but as a burrito (Not a bowl). It's not a fried tortilla bowl either, it's just a bowl. It's chopped ribeye, and grilled chicken with black beans, guacamole, grilled onions, cheese, sour cream, yellow rice, tomatoes, and lettuce.
Very tasty, flavorful, delicious! You can taste the char from the grill, and the chicken is done just right, not dried or overcooked. It's a big burrito, too..so make sure you're hungry.
I had a small guacamole also. It's just ok. Not much flavor beyond avocado and lime.
It's great for a quick lunch, I was in and out in about 35 mins as a sit down.
All the employees are great, and it was under 20 bucks with a can of pop.
Absolutely incredible food. Service was efficient, and everyone is delightful. It is clear that the team is happy to host you because they are proud of their product!
Great food place for veggies oh, the people, not the food! Lots of options, right on the menu, and one thing that I like is that the vegetarian options are cheaper than the meat options, so you're not paying for me and just leaving it off. Kudos!
Overall, good food and service music was a little loud for my liking, but it's nice to support a non chain restruante.
