We REALLY loved our food here last night. We tried the beef sambusa (definitely something one person could eat - there were six smallish pieces) that were absolutely perfectly cooked - they brought the very hot fried appetizer out on a plate with a paper towel and there wasn't a speck of grease - that's an expert chef right there! We tried the combo with yellow split peas, potato and beets, beef wet and chicken wet. Our fave by far was the beef. Such a good flavor, the beef was fall-apart tender, and really good quality (no fatty pieces like you might find in pulled BBQ pork). My husband and I chose to share one combo and one sambusa order. We left perfectly full, not stuffed. The waiter was doing a good job - but he was solo and the restaurant was fairly busy. Hopefully he's not alone all the time! I saw another review mention this - but the temp in the restaurant is very warm. There was a window unit AC but you couldn't tell. Wear your cooler sweat wicking fabrics - but I would absolutely return even with the heat. Don't skip this place!!

This is a very cute little restaurant serving authentic Ethiopian cuisine in very cozy surroundings. It tasted like a home cooked meal and the flavors were quite diverse. They give you the option to combine your orders so you can eat family style. The injera was fresh and fluffy. We got the lamb and chicken which were both very flavorful. The star of the show for me were the mushrooms and collard greens.

Love this place!! My 2nd visit. I Always think of it when I’m in town visiting. & OMG in addition too ok the good food this time I ordered sweet tea not realizing that it would be iced Ethiopian Chai Sweet tea!! I drank it so fast she brought me more right away! I wish I could fly back to Nashville and have it for dinner tonight! YUMMY! Don’t sleep on this one and the prices are reasonable (I’m comparing to Chicago prices for Ethiopia ).

This place is nothing fancy & it can be warm inside but the food is AMAZING. I eat here every time I’m in town. They have a combo option if you want to try 4 different dishes.

The food was great but the customer service was just okay . There is just one person attending all the tables which can get messy if it gets busy . Even with just a few guests it took for ever to get a glass of water for us Also , she didnt let us sit at a table next to the window saying it was reserved but clearly no one came till we left The food was a solid though. We got the vegetable and meat combo along with the traditional Ethiopian coffee. Really nice. If only the service can be improved, i will visit this place again.

Absolutely love this place! We have been coming here for years and the food, service and atmosphere never disappoint. Yes - it’s a hole-in-the-wall. Yes - it’s not as updated and “hip” as other places in the area. However, the people are friendly and accommodating, it’s authentic, and the food is always amazing! My favs are the avocado salad and the asa goulash.

This is the kind of place I love. Genuine, humble, and delicious. I found the no frills approach to service and food to be a mutual compliment that abandons pretense. As if the place is there to say "We take each other as we are, my door is open to you." The atmosphere was understated, warm, and welcoming. The outside of the building may not look as flashy and seamless as others, but if you look closely you will see that the grounds are kept clean and the indoors are immaculate. A lived in patina may look shabby to mainstream diners, but seeing the care into every detail is your reward for a second glance. Honest and clear flavors in every dish is the standard for everything we tried. I very highly recommend the (23) Shiro Wet. It was savory, complex, and filling. Even when my appetite was satisfied I still kept wanting another bite. I would absolutely love to come back when I am in town again. If you have been uncertain about trying this place or putting it off, just go for it!

This place has wonderful food. From the outside it looks like a very small and not so fancy place. But we were surprised by how good the food was and how AMAZING their coffee was. It is the fanciest coffee I've ever had. The coffee beans were roasted in front of us and served in the traditional Ethiopian way. The coffee was mind blowing and very very well presented. The portion size was decent. And rates were really cheap. When in the area, I definitely recommend checking this place out.
