this was SO GOOD! my friends and i came here last night around 9pm. they got us a table quickly (we were walk-ins) and our order was taken fast. the service was amazing, shout out to logan! he made our experience here 10x better. the food was top tier and everything about hoban was just fun. i definitely recommend this place!
Food was good, portions for BBQ meats are on the larger size so one plate can feed 2 to 3 adults. They also come with extra dishes of food. I dont recommend bbq your chicken as it takes a long time to cook. Parking can be a problem but there is a parking ramp about 2 blocks away.
Long wait despite having reservations. The food was great, but my only complaint is that they don't warn you when they're out of sauces for tempura or mandu. Those are items only enjoyable with dipping sauce and I wouldn't have ordered them had I known they were out of sauce. Tempura eaten dry is especially terrible. The japchae is the absolute bomb, so delicious.
Amazing food, quick service, and some of the best wait staff I have ever experienced. Will definitely be coming again many times over. Great place and awesome experience.
I've been here on several occasions, the vibe is always welcoming, energetic and the building itself has a metalic modern style. Great place to impress a date or show off to friends, that is if you can grill.
It's not cheap, for a dinner for two an order of pork belly, steak tips, shrimp and veggies the total was $200 after tip. The meat was marinated well and was decent in quality. Just make sure you have some knowledge on cooking meat before you arrive.
Service was fine nothing to write home about. Finding a close parking spot could've been easier. I'll definitely be back here in the near future. Good place for a date!
Had a great experience! Went there for my birthday with my family. First time too also! The host was very friendly and I would also recommend booking a reservation in advance if all possible. Nice that they remain open late, but they still can be very busy. No menu, everything is online by scanning the QRC code on the table. Or, we never asked for one cause we saw the QRC code on the table. We did the korean bbq and had ordered the thick pork belly, marinated beef short ribs, bugolgi, some veggies and fried chicken wings with white rice. All comes with side dishes. All very good! We also ordered a lychee saku and it is nice to know it comes with a lychee fruit in it too (all in the silver pitcher, can’t see). Place looks clean and decent. Our waiter was very nice too! The reason why only 4 stars, street/meter parking only, no valet either. If busy, food/drinks can be delay, understandable.
Our first time here. We had a wonderful server who suggested some good food. Everything was delicious. We order beef and pork bulgogi, bibimbap and calamari stir fry. Bonchons were complementary. It’s a bit pricey, but if you go in a group it’s reasonable. Must try place in Minneapolis.
Fantastic service. Great menu choices. Excellent quality. Eaiter kept stopping by 5o refill the ample sauces and sides. They were out of the wings, but we left so dull I don't know why we would have ordered them. Loved every bite and will be back soon. My fave? The short ribs, without a doubt don't skip them.
Food was just what I was hoping for!
I grew up here in Minnesota, but never had Korean BBQ until I moved to Los Angeles, CA, which we pretty much had as often as we could.😋 Going to keep it real, it's tough to compare the likes of K-Town (Korea Town)BBQ but this is a great start for the Twin Cities. I did wish they had a choice of A, B, or C like they do in LA, where you can try a variety of menu items for one price, but the food was still very good.
Love the staff, very kind and helpful too. The only thing was the atmosphere. I felt it was at times a little stuffy, which is typical when it comes to BBQ spots but I think the overall presentation, cleanliness, and air circulation could be better! With that this place could be a staple for setting the tone for more Korean BBQ restaurants in Minnesota!
*Get the pajeom pancake!
*We reserved for 4:30pm and it worked out great but when we were leaving there was definitely a few groups waiting. Just a heads up!
Thanks for the surprise bday shot 🍶 too!
While in the Cities we found a place called Hoban Korean BBQ. We had to try as my cat's name is Hoban. lol It was our final destination for dinner for our trip to the Cities. It was a little weird when we went to the place. It didn't look open, and we didn't see anyone inside. So we were double checked Google and it said it was open, so, we went back and tried the door a couple of times and it was. I am glad we came back to make sure. The one thing we found in MN is restaurants serve a lot of food. We should have shared an entrée and appetizer. The food was good, just way too much. I realize that may not really be a problem, just something we were not prepared for.. We enjoyed all the food and would recommend.
