True neighborhood bar. Was in at 1pm on a Thursday and had 2 rounds bought for me by fellow patrons. But for God's sake, do not drink draft beers. Tastes like they haven't cleaned their lines in years. The Pabst tasted like river water. However, do not let that dissuade you from stopping by - just drink cocktails or canned beers.
Not a bad place for a third shift morning bar. Nurses, firemen, cops, EMT'S , factory guys, concrete, electricians, carpenters, retirees etc. A real nice mix of people. Especially the topless 20 somethings. Just kidding. Food was good especially for the morning free stuff. Couldn't beat the price. Pizza is very good. Great hidden gem. Bay view exclusive.
Ordered on a Friday round eleven thinking I was wasting time being so late but the bartender happened to be a sweetheart and took the time to give me a couple options anyway...thx hun food was ready as I was told was also a great hot cheeseburger wedges it hit the spot. Atmosphere is always good and never had a bad experiance. Not to mention a family member lives so close I could be there in 2mins. Does it get better
This place is one of those wonderful, quiet, hole in the wall dive bars. The regulars are always friendly. I enjoy going to this bar. Food is ok. Drinks are pretty cheap. I keep going back.
Swigs is like a box of chocolates. You never know what yer gonna get. All I know that it's a mish mosh of truly loving people.
Chris and Theresa are so generous not only by their pricing but the wonderful food they put out for the football games.
A slice of life in Bay View that although motley at times can also be a great gathering place for good conversation. I appreciate it.
Part of he charm of Bay View for me is going to a diverse friendly working-class bar, along with the flavor that comes with. I've met alot of good people through my 14 years of living here.
It has been a good place for me to go to relieve loneliness. If that doesn't happen for me on a certain day or time, it will the next time. Just like anything, nothing is constant or perfect. But it's generally always welcoming.
Good people, good vibe, the kind of place you can walk into for the first time and feel like a regular in 15 minutes.
Never tried the kitchen but heard good things!
