I absolutely loved my experience at Daddy’s Soul Food. When you walk in you immediately get a family vibe from the decor and old school music. Staff are warm and welcoming. The prices are phenomenal for the quality of food they are providing. They let you try samples of their menu and every thing is fresh! This is the best fried chicken I’ve had in Milwaukee. The portion sizes are delicious.I highly recommend giving this place a try. The only thing I think could improve are the cornbread muffins(they taste a little lemony and slightly over cooked, maybe it was just an off batch) , but everything else 10 out of 10! I will be back!
Daddy’s was a great experience. The atmosphere felt like home. The staff were very friendly and hospitable. Shout out to my man Jay who was a blessing to meet. The food was ridiculously good! My wife and I loved everything we ate. The bathrooms were clean. It don’t get any better than this! If you are in the Milwaukee area you have to stop here for a great soul food experience. I could go on and on but I’ll stop right here.
The ladies were polite but no enthusiasm at all. The baked chickem was phenomenal. The green beans were seasoned perfectly 🥰. The forn was suspect...the smell of it was bad. The taste was just as it smelled. The Kool-Aid is extremely sweet. The fish was cooked perfectly. Sweet potatoes were super sweet. The mac and cheese was good, could use a bit more seasoning. The cabbage was good as well. The place was clean overall. The women's bathroom had no soap. There were also no paper towels. There was a hand dryer in there, not sure if it worked.
Our church group [15 of us!] had a lovely lunch experience last Saturday, Sept 30th. We all raved about the food! The staff was exceptionally warm and welcoming, not to mention accommodating to our large group! We especially enjoyed the ribs and catfish and my personal favorites were the mac and cheese and the candied yams! Best I've ever had!!!! You can see and taste how much they care! The atmosphere was also terrific!!
The food here was excellent. This is served cafeteria style where you go in and order, they plate it up right in front of you, you pay and grab a table to eat.
The containers you eat out of are styrofoam. which is fine with me except for the eco impact. Pricing was incredibly fair for what you got for a meal.
The chicken was juicy and flavorful with a nice crispiness on the outside. Greens and Mac and cheese were excellent. The black eyed peas were good, but I'm not too much of a black eyed pea person. I just wanted to try them out.
I would highly recommend this place and will probably be back.
There’s a warmth in the air of daddy’s. It’s not just the food. It’s soulful and beautifully decorated with African American memorabilia. I love it there they play down to earth relaxing music and the dining area has never been full although the line to get food always is. You’ll still be out in probably less than 10 minutes. Please like my comment.
Our family decided to have dinner here after a funeral. The staff was so friendly and the food was very tasty!! We had a great time and so thankful for the hospitality! I had started eating my food but here is a picture of the veggie plate!
5/5 — if you’re not eating here yet then better change that, lol! My friends and I went here for a quick bite during lunch. We each got the $12.99 plate (chicken w/ three sides). So worth it! Also, the staff was friendly and helpful.
The chicken was juicy and crunchy, the mac’n cheese was cheesin’ and perfectly cooked, the candied yams were divine (one of my friend’s even said the yams tasted like how her grandma makes them!), cornbread was fresh, and the collard greens were perfectly seasoned.
Highly recommend! Can’t wait to come back.
Overall, a pretty good experience. We got the catfish, the ribs, and the fried chicken dinners. The best combination would have been fried chicken with yams and cabbage. The black-eyed peas and rice would have been much better if they were hot. The kids enjoyed the Kool-aid with their meal. The cake was tasty but too expensive. I'll be sure to try them again.
First timer, food had a great flavor. Wish the Mc and cheese was not as dry. The ribs were super super tender. For my liking I wish it had less BBQ. The only complaint was the servers. Not friendly at all and with a bit of attitude 🙄. But overall I went for the food and I was happy. Thank you!
