"Taste like Texas"
This was some of the best food I've had in awhile. We got 2 orders of chips throughout the meal and each basket felt like they were just fried for me at that second. No stale chips they just took out of a bucket. Crunchy, fresh, amazing.
And don't get me started on the food. Bursting with spices, flavor, just amazing.
We love texas and this didn't taste like your typical Mexican food. It tasted like the food in Texas that we miss so much.
The building was also super awesome.
Finally, Arthur, our waiter, rocked.
The only thing that was "bad" was the music. It was loud like a club. So much bass. I didn't understand ... The atmosphere, building, cute food trucks, bar area, tables, food all feel like this awesome chill vibe and the music felt like I was in a dirty basement drinking out of red cup. I'd still go back, just maybe just bring ear plugs �
OMFG can't say a single bad thing about this place absolutely perfect experience. Server was one of best if had in very long time. Food was so so so so amazing will definitely be back. I was sold when I walked in and seen an airstream as the bar and the metal star wars statues behind the hostess station but then we sat down to eat and were blown away. One of my new favorite spots to eat in the city now.
Vagabond has a unique atmosphere and is a good place to bring clients or family visitors. We went on a Tuesday so they had specials for select Tacos. They were all very good but the chicken one did need more salt. We left full and happy!
I consider this my favorite taco Tuesday location in Milwaukee. However, if you don't go on the discount days, the tacos are extremely expensive. Also, sometimes the tacos aren't all filled properly, and then they aren't worth the money. I also LOVE the vaga-bowls, so I recommend getting that if you aren't there on a taco Tuesday. The margaritas are okay, again, I think it's just a little too pricey. Be aware that the chips and salsa are not complimentary, but it's still worth getting it. The best taco by far is the gringo pollo. Finally, the atmosphere is great! I love the decor and lighting.
Vagabond is a must when going to Milwaukee. The variety of flavorful Tacos is great and the restaurant itself is a sight to behold including a DJ stand with a wall of speakers and bars in metal trailers inside and out. Staff is nice and there's a lot to see.
Great place and atmosphere. The food was delicious, I had a chicken quesadilla, Argentina tacos, and jerk chicken tacos. The food came out right away, I didn’t have to wait too long. They also have a DJ which I thought it was neat.
I had fabulous guacamole with a kick (very generous portion, n/a margaritas, and Brazilian skirt steak tacos (with cilantro, onion, and lime) and a side of rice and beans. The beans also had a spicy kick to them too 🤩. The atmosphere was fun. The service was excellent, and the waitress was very attentive. It's a great restaurant for a birthday or just a fun time out. I will definitely return to Vagabond
I've walked past here a few times and never went in. We thought we would give it a try. What a fun space. It has a airstream 80's vibe with really good tacos and margaritas!!
I got the cheese & onion enchiladas with black beans & rice- very bland. Had to get a side of guacamole to give some flavor, so meh on the food, in my opinion. However, my partner got some seafood tacos & gives them a 7/10 score, so maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. The atmosphere was fine- super busy, but the bartender was attentive. Overall I'd say our experience was just average. We definitely don't have to go back.
Had dinner here with some friends. Really cool environment with airstream trailer used as the bar and live DJ. Chips and salsa was great. Liked the three salsas that came with the chips. I had the spice pork taco salad. The salad was good sized and the pork had great flavor.
Came here for dinner. I really enjoyed my time here. The atmosphere was great. And I was impressed by the decor. Music was good. I will say the prices on the tacos were for one taco. And depending on what you’re used to it can seem pretty expensive. But regardless of price the food and drinks were good. However don’t get the cheese dip. It’s pretty much melted velveeta queso blanco. I told our waitress they should season the queso or maybe add some seasoned shredded chicken to it. That would definitely make it better. The guac was so good the queso didn’t bother me as much. Overall I’m thoroughly happy with my experience. Definitely would recommend and I will be back next time I’m in Milwaukee.
SUPER good tacos. About 30 specialty varieties. I've only ever had the tacos... so I don't know about the rest of the menu.
Fast service... and most if the servers are very nice and accommodating.
Place is great. The whole vibe is amazing. Definitely a Milwaukee staple. Perfect pre-game spot. I’m a taco snob at heart so I’m kind of hard to please. They work, they hit the spot, definitely a level 4 IMO. The place is so cool that you can’t give the food any lower of a rating than a 4. Over all I recommend this place to everyone I know. Great specials. Good Energy. You will have fun here!!!
