My husband booked this place for dinner. It was a great atmosphere. It was busy, because they had a rehearsal dinner going on. We decided to do the prefix dinner with wine pairing. It was very goid, but very expensive. The most I think we ever paid for a dinner.😐
They had a problem with a black beetles, that would jump on you. That was the worst thing about the evening. Need to get the pest control out there. Should have complementary offered a discount, but I guess they didn't think it was issue.
We had a wonderful breakfast there so decided to come back for dinner. Totally amazing!
Outdoor dining is great with the view and greenery. Food was light and doesn't overwhelm your palate.
We tried nearly all the starters! So delicious. Cheese board was exceptional! Try the Bourbon Pecan ice cream.
We had a very good dinner while staying here at the inn. For cocktails my wife had the Green Goddess (spin on a gimlet) and I had the Pandemic Sour (couldn't resist the name).
We had the cheese plate appetizer, followed by a good beet salad. The mains were the duck confit and the pasta special (housemade fettuccini with trumpet mushrooms and chicken).
All were very good. This was one of our top two meals during our stay in Mendocino.
All the dining was outside under a covered tent, with heaters.
(Heads up if you stay at the inn they aren't serving breakfast yet)
Someone in town recommended this place to us. We had noodles and fillet steak and they were so good. I like the ambience here with a beautiful architecture. Also, the staff were very friendly.
Celebrated an anniversary here and had great time here. Our waiter was very helpful and knowledgeable. Best dish we had was their scallops appetizer, delicious! Every course was perfectly heated to that just right temp, sounds small but makes a difference. Nice seating options, can see sunset. Also save room for dessert if you can, their ice cream was yummy.
Came here for the five course meal with wine pairing. The food was excellent from ingredients to preparation and presentation. The wine (most local) paired very well and the overall progression of the courses was on point. I had the standard meal and my wife had the vegetarian.
The wait staff was all very friendly and accommodating. We were sat quickly and spent about 3 hours there in total.
The setup is clearly one of transition and necessity with the pandemic. There is a big tent on the front lawn with string lights and patio heaters. I think this is the only place where they fell short of my expectations. We didn't have any older members of our party but if we did I would be concerned about trip hazards with the uneven grass. My biggest gripe is the tables and chairs. Every table and chair rocked. I think they were aiming for a "shabby chic" but the result is more "highschool shop class". I would understand this under initial circumstances. But they have been hosting people outside for a while. If you're planning to be there for three hours, bring something with you to stick under the table legs. To take some Dramamine. Or both.
Salad with avocado toast was super fresh and delicious! Service was a little slow but great atmosphere.
Went here for dinner while staying in Mendocino. Lovely characterful building although our particular table was a bit close to the servers area. Amazing steaks and good wine - would recommend!
