My dad literally just went up to the cooks and told them to make us something special and they went above and beyond to make sure we were happy!!!! To be honest, I was a little apprehensive because I am picky about ordering my food but my family and I were extremely satisfied at the end.
They brought my family and I (5 adults) the mixed appetizer platter and the mixed grill platter which were more than enough seeing as we had leftovers. The appetizer comes with baba ganoush, hummus, pickles, olives, two falafel plates. The mixed grill came with grilled tomatoes, grilled onions, grilled jalapeños, lamb shanks, grilled chicken, minced meat kaboobs, etc. I ordered a large fries because I was craving fries and we ordered another falafel plate not because we were still hungry but because they were that damn tasty!!!!! They were perfectly crunchy and hot!!! We found ourselves eating beyond the point of being full because the food was so delicious we wanted to try everything while it was hot!!!
Service was great. Server was kind of shy but that's irrelevant since she was extremely courteous and tentative and the drinks and food came out in a timely manner. It also seemed as though she might have been the only server on the floor, so I give her props if that was the case because there might have been 6 or 7 tables (some 2 tops and a few 5 tops) and was working hard!!!!
I'll definitely be back and recommend this place to everyone. The noise level was fine.. You can't possibly expect the establishment to tell parents to control their kids. That's not how the service industry functions and obviously the parents don't need anyone patronizing them because they are well aware they're kids are going nuts and that they are solely responsible "for keeping the noise level down", not the servers, cooks, managers, or owners... I've been working in the food and hospitality industry for quite a while and these people are passionate about what they do and are trying hard.
Our entire family loved this restaurant! The lamb chops were the absolute best I've ever eaten! We had the large family meal and it was all fabulous! The rice was amazing! Even our grandson wanted to go back the next day because the French fries were so good! You need to try this great place!
10/10! Our first time trying this place after a recommendation from a friend. It was amazing! Food had so much flavor, friendly staff, prices affordable! Will definitely be a regular stop for us!
Food was amazing. Portion sizes were perfect. We loved everything we ordered. We got the tabouleh salad, hummus, falafel, lamb chops, lamb shawarma, and a chicken shawarma wrap. Would absolutely recommend these dishes. Ask for tahini sauce! I’m obsessed with their rice and often order a side order for takeout. Service was good and staff were super friendly.
Food is great. Tasty super. But you will find some feathers on the chicken and this indicates that they do not wash the chicken before cooking it. Service is not good, specially the teller guy. Price is acceptable.
My wife and I decided to step out of our usual American cuisine for lunch. We usually enjoy Mediterranean, so we tried Ali Baba. It was a little off our beaten path. We were quite impressed. The wait staff was attentive and friendly. The food was delicious. It was served quick and fresh off of the stove . The price was less than we expected. We will be back to try more variety of dishes.
My family and I always dine in any chance we get. The Chicken Sheshtaook player was delicious. The flavor and seasoning is just right. You will not be disappointed. I must also ad the Humus is very delicious as well.
Stopped in for dinner based on the reviews and this place did not disappoint! First of all they're hummus is on point! The lamp chops were flavorful and grilled perfectly. The service was super friendly. Highly recommend trying it for a taste of Middle Eastern cuisine.
Food was great. Meat was super tasty. Get their Garlic and Shata sauces, yummmmy! Food came fairly quick. Our waitress Bailey was nice and friendly. Will definitely be back.
We had the Ali Baba Special Mixed Grill, Lentil Soup, Ali Baba Salad and the Baklava.
First time eating from here was for take out and it was so good we decided to go in person the next time to get a more authentic dish and i was hands down phenomenal! The atmosphere was super chill and the food was amazing! Service is a bit wonky and needs some touching up as there seemed to be 10 to 15 people working there and only one person on the floor while the kids played in the back room. It took about 10 minutes to get greeted for drinks and once we got our food, no one followed up to see if we needed anything. There was way too much goofing around by the kids that were there and i usually dont mind but like, we, and another table, literally had to wait for them to stop playing in the backroom and wave someone down because we went like 30 minutes without anyone on the floor checking to see if anyone needed anything. Other than the service, the food was still super delicious and we most definitely will continue eating here!
Best chicken sheesh tawook in Memphis! It takes forever to get your order to the table but it’s all worth it in the end — it’s that good! I couldn’t remove any stars for slow/bad service because the food is always consistently great and they never disappoint. Be ready to wait 30 mins before you can start eating but be ready to be one of the tastiest meals you ever had in your life. Make sure to request their dips along with your entree. Plenty of parking available. Price is reasonable.
Highly recommend for Memphis locals.
came here for dinner on christmas. seems very popular and prices and quantity were both very reasonable by todays standard. smile on the faces of a working christmas crew. a middle eastern friend told me in town this is one of the best middle eastern restaurants in memphis and wife and i enjoyed it.
