Excellent experience! Visiting from Illinois, loved the food, the staff, and even the customers. Everyone was super friendly, the food was outstanding, and the overall vibe was really inviting. Definitely recommend!
Great food and atmosphere! The staff is wonderful. My stuffed chicken and risotto was delish! My girlfriends and I had a wonderful time last night. 💚
Great spot with a lot of options. Very reasonably priced for the selection available. Not typically busy, and the chilaquiles are great to have for brunch
We really enjoyed everything. The food and the service were excellent. Try the avocado fries and the fish of the day, both were extremely good. Homemade apple spice ice cream finished us off. We will be back.
This was the second time we have eaten brunch at Maximo's. Both times the food was cold. The food is good but would be better if the butter would met in the grits and biscuits. The eggs were cold too. The $5 Bloody Mary's were a plus. The service was friendly and efficient. We will definitely be back as it is in the hood. Hope the temp thing can be fixed.
It’s was a great experience. The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. Amazing cocktails, wine, food, and service.
For an appetizer, we enjoyed the Risotto Croquettes. And for dinner, I had the Stuffed Chicken, and my husband had the Fish Special - Pescado Maximo. Everything was delicious. Highly recommended Maximo's on Broad.
Ribeye steak with housemade truffle fries and seasonal green beans. Crab stuffed Halibut with a lobster reduction and sautéed vegetables. Lamb satay with roasted chickpeas, Brussel sprouts with candied bacon. Cointreau infused creme Brulee with drunken blackberry. Chocolate lovers mousse with dark chocolate, toasted hazelnuts over chocolate espresso cream. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
We shared 4 small plates that were all excellent. We especially loved the polenta crab cakes, so airy and yummy! The gin and elderflower cocktail was a great surprise, but the best of all was the chocolate creme brule!!
I wanted to give the place more than 4 stars, but less than 5 stars - that’s no possible in the current setting, so gave it a 5 star!
I have had the privilege to dine in a number of restaurants in Memphis but let me take this opportunity to say that Maximo's on Broad is a diner's delight. From the outside, the place might look like any other diner joint, but as soon as you enter the premises, you are embraced with an overwhelming gust of coziness. The quaint and dim lighting sets up the stage for a perfect and quiet date night and omg did I mention the coziness? Our hostess Lori instantly developed a connection with us as soon as we walked in by referring by our first names instead of a sir/mam (other restaurants take note!!!). Let me tell you they have an amazing collection of cocktails and for the uninspired, they also have local brews on draft. For our appetizer, we ordered the brandied shrimp from the tapas menu. The amazing texture of the dish took us by surprise with its sharp yet delicious sweet notes. For our main entree, we ordered the seafood paella and the chef's special Pescado Maximo (made with market-fresh fish of the day). The seafood paella, made with an assortment of mussels, shrimp, and scallops, is just the wholesome dish. The seafood stuff were fresh and plenty. The Pescada, on the other hand, topped with a bold lobster reduction and amazingly crispy yet soft veggies, flirts with your taste buds like an ardent lover who entices you in her stunning charms. The fish quality was absolutely top. In conclusion, I would like to reinstate that with its cozy charms and its bold flavors, this place just stands out like a proud monument on Broad Avenue.
Incredible dining experience at Maximos on Broad - I had the Artisan Salad with pine nut encrusted goat cheese (yum!) over greens with apple slices, mandarin oranges & sweet cherry tomatoes in a citrus vinaigrette and I added the most delicious salmon - what a treat! We also had the special a filet over greens with pomegranate, raspberries, green beans and spinach with a light vinaigrette. To wrap up dinner we had the rich chocolate crème brûlée (to die for!) with raspberries on top and home made ice cream (super delicious) and creamy. The staff were friendly and atmosphere was nice. I can highly recommend this fantastic restaurant.
Love this place. The Brussel sprouts and prosciutto panini are out of this world.
This place is an awesome find. Lori is a beautiful hostess made us feel at home. Omg if you must eat paella you have to get it here. My husband enjoyed his birthday dinner and gave kudos to the bartender, he loved the old broad. Will definitely be back to try Sunday brunch.
We were looking for a different place to eat, and so glad we ventured out a bit. Quiet and quaint dining experience. A bit dim with regards to lighting, only an issue because my husband and I need readers. The food and drinks were fabulous! Tapas menu is lovely. We will be back again!
Great small venue that is perfect for a date night. Our waitress, Laura took great care of us and made perfect suggestions. Food was delicious! This is truly a hidden gem.
The stuffed, with cheese and spinach, chicken has a beautiful presentation. The taste matches it. Not over or under cooked. The side of green beans were cooked perfectly as well.
The duck was very nice as well, however on the fatty side. However it was still delicious along with the roasted potatoes.
Not sure why the images are sideways.
Maximo's is a hidden date night jem on broad you must check out.
