The food is always great. The owners are very nice and you are always treated as family. Great food from great people!

Good Food - Reasonable Prices. My wife and I ate dinner here last Thursday on one of those spur-of-the-moment, "let's try this place" kind of ideas.
This is your basic, plate-lunch type of joint. nothing fancy, but good food that will "stick to your ribs" (as the ol' folks use to say).
We had BBQ chicken with rice and gravy (me), mashed potatoes and gravy (her), and green beans.
Here's my summary:
Food - *GOOD*. very tasty. Your basic plate lunch type of meal with really good gravy. generous portions.
Service - quick and friendly. You order at the counter and they call your name so that you can pick up your meal (in a styrofoam lunch box/plate).
Price - *REASONABLE*. We ate for less than twenty bucks and had more than enough!
Atmosphere - clean. neat. casual. a "local joint" kind of feeling.
Impression - not a bad place to get some grub. :)
Good. The sweet potato fries were yummy and i like their shrimp sandwiches.
It's a nice place to get a pretty quick bite to eat. I specifically like the shrimp poeboys, and the fries aren't bad. They bring your food to you after you order, which is nice. But all in all, nice, cozy, quick food that tastes pretty good. Also, take a min to look at all the lunch boxes, there's a large amount with a lot of diversity.
Given the name "Lunch Box" their hours are the only "negative" thing I have to say. The food is great and cheap, the service is ALWAYS nice and they always appreciate it when you stop by.
great little restaurant. good prices. fair portions. friendly staff. only wish to make it better is to offer muffalettas- I rather expect that at a south Louisiana lunch establishment that serves sandwiches.

We have eaten here for 20+ years and never disappointed. Our favorites are on Friday. Fried catfish and shrimp stew. The potato salad is the best around town. Their BBQ sandwich is also delicious. Highly recommend
Would have given thus a 5, but by the time I arrived home from doing errands, my food was cold. My friend ordered the gumbo, which came in some very large bowls. I had the chicken tenders with curly q fries.
Everything is really reasonably priced and delicious as well. Excellent complete menu in addition to really fantastic plate lunches
Living here in Lafayette since 2015 but being from Arkansas my taste buds were in for a shock. I love the food here but sometimes it’s a bit warm for me. The Lunchbox never disappoints my tastebuds. Seasoned just to perfection. I love this place and recommend it to anyone looking for a great home cooked meal!
Super friendly staff. Delicious food. And prices were very reasonable. Got a cheeseburger and sweet potato fries and it was like $8. No wonder almost every table was full.
The plate lunches were great. I really enjoyed the quality of the food. Today was stewed pork with rice and gravy. Delicious! We also had the shrimp poboy and the spaghetti and meatballs. Awesome.
