We went for our 1st time Saturday night. Had tried your crAwfish enchiladas at Jazz Fest in New Orleans. So glad finally get to your establishment. I love the atmosphere and the music. Can't say enough about the great food. I got crawfish enchiladas of course lol loved the rice that came with it and loved the corn pie (can't remember name) my friend got the crawfish platter and loved everything in it. Our waiter (Josiah) was very nice and we can't wait to return. Thanks for a great evening.
We were looking for a local favorite restaurant, and found it. We love the food we ordered and the ambiance. The service was great. Clean restroom. There was a life band, music not too loud. Highly recommended.
Stopped in for some gator and this place was amazing. Server, Toby, was fantastic and our food was on point. The gator bites were good, and so was everything else.
Prejean's was an unexpected stop on our way home and what a delightful surprise it was. Everything we ordered was delicious. The soft shell BLT is a sandwich I will be dreaming about later. They use a glazed thick cut bacon that complements the crispy crab in the best way. The andouille smoked duck gumbo was spicy and seasoned so well it made you want another bite before you even swallow the last one. Even the French fries were perfectly seasoned and perfectly fried goodness. I'd be willing to make the four hour drive again in the future. Definitely a must visit.
My wife and I visited Prejean's about 7 years ago and really liked it. Didnt think it could get better. Chef Adam does a fantastic job with his renditions of old Cajun comfort foods. Miss Taylor was an excellent server. High marks all around. Definitely will return!! A must try spot
Took a little while to get a table and wait on food but IT WAS WORTH IT. I've been dreaming of those Brussel sprouts and char grilled oysters since I left. Can't wait to come back and try more

Drove in from San Antonio, TX and was in the area for a family function on Friday, June 2nd. Hubby had never been farther than Lake Charles so wanted to show him around Lafayette and surrounding towns of my childhood💟 Plus, let him try some real Cajun Country food!!!!
The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed (although we were dressed up due to family function) but our waitress made us feel comfortable. She was very helpful, answering all my husband's touristy qs's 😂 and indecisiveness about menu items. Ended up ordering Alligator bites for an app - super tender, fried to perfection and spiced just right with spicy dipping sauces he loved!
For lunch, he ordered the Atchafalaya Catfish Plate with crawfish etoufée and maque-choux. Having never eaten true Louisiana etoufée....his mind was blown by the heat/spice level and real crawfish taste! lol. I ordered crawfish etoufée too, a full plate, and a cup of chicken & sausage gumbo to share with him. My etoufée was perfection too...super nostalgic and couldn't get enough of the spiciness!!! Any place outside of Cajun Country never can get it right! The gumbo was rich and decadent....that roux though!!!! Someone stood over the cast iron for a good hour, lol.....almost black, very savory and NO tomatoes or okra...just like I like it 💯💟
Overall, FANTASTIC eats!!! Great place for delicious, authentic Cajun dishes and way to blow the mind of my country Texas boy 😆
We came for lunch and Cajun seafood near me. Ordered gator bites, flatbread boudin, gumbo, crawfish etouffee, and burgers. The food was wonderful and the service was great. I definitely recommend!
Visiting the area we wanted a Cajun dining experience. Chose Prejean’s based on its past reputation. It didn’t let me down. Food was very good. We shared an order of eggplant pirogue, rice dressing, and maux choux and bread pudding. It was a late weeknight and they were near closing so the kitchen prepared an extra eggplant pirogue for me instead of us sharing one. Our server, John, was excellent. We enjoyed talking with him and learning about the area. Go to Prejean’s and ask for John. Trust his recommendations for dinner!
Absolutely delicious! Atmosphere was great. Josiah was our server and was constantly on top of it. We had stuffed mushrooms, and crawfish nachos for appetizers. Delicious. We also had the red beans w/ rice and fried pork chop w/ green beans. Shrimp Dianne, Pasta Magnolia were also favs at the table. Only concern was our 18 mo old had kids catfish. Then batter was a little spicy, I know it’s Cajun cooking but a little less spice for the kids would be perfect. Will be back!
Every time I am in Lafayette I come to Prejean's at least once. Best Cajun cuisine around this area! The Seafood Gumbo is great and the seasoning on the chicken is finger-licking good!
