This place has such a laid back, young La Jolla vibe going. The art, succulents, and lights really help with that and add a great aesthetic. On to the food! I had my first acai bowl here and it was much better than I expected! I'm not a fan of bananas, but the honey, nuts, and coconut were delicious toppings. It was huge and very refreshing on hot day, definitely a good alternative to ice cream or froyo if you can deal with something not as sweet.
I met the lovely Sondra Santos Drahos here for coffee -- and my first-ever acai bowl. To be clear: I can be a cold-brew snob. I like it black and bitter (like my soul?), and this place did not disappoint. The service was great, too -- mostly young kids, but they were very polite and helpful. And the MASSIVE acai bowl was delicious! I loved the combination of the coconut and cashews. Again, it was my first bowl so I have nothing to compare it to, but I left a very happy camper. Also, I'm super weird and took pictures of the cool painted map of La Jolla they had...in the bathroom. This was a great local place with lots of character. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area!
We tried Shore Thing on our first morning in La Jolla and had such a positive experience that we ate there for either breakfast or lunch every day of our week-long trip. Plenty of fresh ingredients & healthy menu items to choose from - as a vegetarian, I was especially pleased with the Field sandwich made as a wrap with some quinoa added & the breakfast sandwich with avocado on the seedy ciabatta was a great meal to start the day. we also tried the homemade granola bars - a nice snack when hiking around the coast. the folks working at Shore Thing were very friendly & made great recommendations. great little spot - I wish we had one back home!
Some mixed reviews about the food but the thing they're leaving out is that this is healthy eats. And the portions are great for the price. Compared to the likes of Starbucks and their tiny portions, along with their relatively unhealthy menu, this place is great. The white sands frappe is amazing and the Amazon acai bowl was much bigger than I could've asked for. Love this place!
I always go to shore thing cafe after I'm finished surfing at scripps pier. The people that work there are extremely friendly and personable. I really enjoy all their sandwich wraps and coffees. I would recommend this place to all my family and friends! If you go then you should try the beach club wrap, it tastes amazing especially after a long surf session.
Staff are friendly, efficiently handling orders when there are lines. Food is great for take away, we've eaten on premise once and the ambiance is a typical urban breakfast café.
Prices are decent for La Jolla. We've been coming back for years!
The place was recommended to us by our bikes tour guide, Alex. It was a nice quick place to eat. We had half a sandwich and a quinoa salad. Everything was so yummy and healthy. Food was ready in a timely enough manner so you can pop in and out.
Great coffee, swell staff. My favorite order is the veggy breakfast burrito but add sausage to it. Been going here for years now, always a happy thing.
Amazing quality produce, and fast customer service. Great lunch stop after a day at the beach with friends or family. Try the beach club sandwich! Everything is reasonably priced.
Go here 2-3 times a week just for coffee - the cove blend specifically. The sandwiches and breakfast wraps are delicious and the staff is very friendly and helpful
Nice people but i wish he had told me thee was an extra $2 charge for the gluten free option...especially since He knew i was questioning the bill.
This is Neio, Bonnie and I's favorite spot in La Jolla. Our must stop in La Jolla. Love this. Thanks for the blue berries, Neio loved them too.😀
Beach club sandwich is spectacular (especially toasted). Great mocha, too!
