Great experience for someone who has never eaten a Puerto Rican meal and doesn't speak Spanish. The pork was excellent and the sweet potatoes were good. FYI - the menu is in Spanish.
My daughter recommended the restaurant so my husband and I went to try it and it was delicious. Their yellow rice is so good a must try. Everything was fantastic the food, the service and the atmosphere can’t forget even the price. Authentic Puerto Rican Food 😋
Pretty tasty roast chicken and pork at this hopping casual spot. Items are served cafeteria style. I just wanted pernil with a side of maduros and a vegetable, but the only veg options were ones I consider starches -- potato and yucca. Hence the loss of a star for no non-white/semi healthy veggies & because I left a little hungry after spending $11.49 since I didn't get veg to fill me up. Also, I got given a combo at combo price even though I didn't want a drink and only got one side (combo has 2 sides & box is definitelybigger as you can see in the pics). My companion's rotisserie chicken was fantastic, but the arroz con gandules was just OK. Some kind of undertone to the flavor of this particular recipe I could not put my finger on, or maybe because I am used to the Cuban version.
We were in town for spring break. I read about Martin's BBQ and really wanted to try it out. I knew before hand this was not a smoke house. We finally got a chance to visit on our way out of town. We were so glad we did! We first ordered 1/2 chicken combo which came with a drink and two sides. The yellow rice was so good that I tried to make it when we got home. Sadly I couldn't match the taste. If you are passing thru and remember 1 thing, it is that you should stop and get some yellow rice. Very nice staff as well. We stopped in just as they opened for the day.
My FAVORITE spot in Kissimmee with authentic Latin cuisine. Growing up with my abuelita’s cooking was some of the best parts of my childhood. I love the Puerto Rican culture and of course, the food! Martins offers a variety of all the favorites. My family and I have made this a weekly outing. Marco the bartender is a GEM and always takes great care of us. The owner Rene is also extremely hospitable and down to earth. If you’re looking for authentic Latin cuisine so not sleep on Martins BBQ. Go today!
The chicken is usually great. However, they are very inconsistent with the Mofongo.
There are days that you love it because of its seasoning and days that it's completely bland. While the ribs and pork are usually salty.
We are regular customers since it opened. Sadly, their prices are skyrocketing lately, plus you get charge additional charges for using your card. Just yesterday, I ordered 2 rostisery chickens to go, and I was charged $29.99.
everything is good here, and the chicken is just finger licking good
My first visit to a Puerto Rican restaurant and it was a blast. From the Ribs to the Chitterlings and everything in between the food was a delight. My friend and I tried mutiple menu items as both agreed that the ribs were the best of all. The food was just part of the entire experience. Marco the Bartender made sure that we had a taste of he full experience without having to travel to PR. He treated us to several of his specials and each one was a hit.
5***** star review, I went for the first time with my wife, Tere Pizarro yesterday and ordered 2 1/4 Breast Chicken with Maduritos, guineitos en escabeche, 2 yucas, Batatas, Flan de Queso and Water and everything was delicious with Puerto Rico delicious flavor in Kissimmee, Florida. Will recommend this place without hesitation.
