Beautiful space and great baked goods. Would be good overall if there was as much focus on execution as design. Although perfectly sculpted, my caprese salad greens were half wilted/melted/rotten. The three bean and prosciutto soup sounded and looked good but had no flavor. The cookie and cornbread were very good.
The setting was beautiful on the central canal. One person in my party got their food 5 minutes before the rest of us and had to wait while their food got cold, but that was the only thing bad. The Cashier was friendly and the food was good.
Great location! Outdoor over canal..... This is one of my favorite locations for lunch. Patio overlooks canal and feels miles away from the noise of the city. Food is very good, and is probably more "Southwest" than "Native American" for sure (Sky City is in the Eiteljorg Museum of Native American and Western art). BUT DON'T THINK you have to go to the museum to eat there, as you don't need to pay admission to eat at the restaurant and better yet-FREE PARKING FOR RESTAURANT CUSTOMERS!!!! If you are a late-luncher like me, don't get burned by the fact that they only have a limited menu (not full menut) after 2:30pm. Check it out at http://www.eiteljorg.com/ejm_PlanYourVisit/SkyCityCafe.asp
Fun and Delicious. I met a friend at Sky City Cafe and had such a nice time. I was glad I had taken a good look at the menu before I went, because in the line you don't have much time to peruse all the choices, so I knew that the special of the day was just what I wanted.
I would have loved to sit out on the patio, but they can't help the weather, however there was plenty of room indoors, enough to get far away from the loud children at the other end of the restaurant.
The special when I went was a roasted red pepper, artichoke and cheese quesadilla. I also order a cup of the jalepeno corn bisque, which was one of four delicious sounding soups of the day.
It is always a pleasant suprise when your $12 meal (including drink) comes with much more than you expected. My quesadilla looked mangificent when it came out along with generaous portions of guacamole, sour cream, and pico de gallo. My corn bisque accompanied with some delicious cornbread. I definitely got a lot of bang for my buck.
You order in line and they bring the food to you, so you don't really need much service, but they cleared our plates in good time and everyone was very nice.
I will definitely go back, but hopefully next time I will go when the weather is perfect to sit outside.
Good food, plentiful portions and both indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the beautiful canal walk when the weather is warm
The cafe at the eiteljorg museum has such great service. The people that work there were so friendly. And they were very helpful. I somehow lost my wallet right before I went to the cafe. They immediately told me to go up to security and that they would look for it in case somebody turned it in. And then when I went back after I located my wallet at first they did not give me the cookie that I had ordered. I just had to go up and tell someone that I didn't get the cookie. They immediately went back and got it and gave it to me. They didn't question anything. It was awesome and I would definitely recommend this cafe to friends and family.
I love the view of children playing in the canal, military park, and exquisite statues around me while I drink my tea and read outside. This is my favorite cafe.
Food was good as well as the service. Prices are moderate to a bit on the higher side. Not much variety though.
