Tacos are excellent, you even have an option to have flour or corn tortillas. Thank you for letting me decide on which I prefer. Even when crowded there’s still a separate section with plenty of room to stand in line to order. People are not standing all around you as you eat. � it’s good ways from me, but worth the trip.
We were at UH for a baseball game. We found this place and loved it ! The food was amazing and the ladies there gave us extra food to try. Really enjoyed it.
So happy to find this hole-in-the-wall gem. So many things on the menu that sounded good, but I took the "safe" route and ordered three tacos: a brisket with cilantro and onions, a bacon egg and cheese breakfast taco, and a crispy chicken taco. They were all great and fairly priced. Still many more things to try so I'll probably be going back soon!

My first time ordering here,
I had pork ribs. They were ok, a little dry.Nothing special.
I had mustard potato salad. Barely any mustard and no flavor. The " creamy" cole slaw was not.
I had hoped for better quality for the price. At least my tacos were good.
I will not order from this restaurant again.
Amazing food, broad menu, dive location.
Mac & Cheese Brisket balls are amazing and the spicy remoulade pairs perfectly with them.
Just the right amount of smoke on the brisket, which wasn't too fatty.
Pulled pork juicy and sweet.
Food. 5/5. Everything I tried was great. The sliced beef sandwich was juicy, not dry. The French fries are some of the best I have had in Houston. The potato/egg/bean was bland. However, they have this "hot sauce" that isn't really hot, more like a bit spicy (2/5) that is super good. My taco was elevated to a whole new level! Def get the "hot sauce!"
Price: 4/5. They do have some bargain prices for some dishes. Tacos are a bit more expensive than I would like.
Service. You get your own drink and they bring your food to you.
Atmosphere. 4/5. I love that the restaurant menu is on the wall. I like that it's a "whole in the wall place."
Overall, I'm going back! I recommend you guys give this place a try as well. You won't be disappointed.

Super huge servings in the tacos and always incredibly delicious! Beans are flavorful and the green salsa is spicy! Barbacoa has a smokey, BBQ flavor since it’s a BBQ restaurant instead of the traditional Mexican flavor.

UPDATE 9/13/20. This place started off good, but lately the food has been very inconsistent, last time I was there the tortillas were very hard and the tacos were cold. Also the service has gotten bad, they seem to have a lot employee turnover.
Texas Tacos is an offshoot of Taqueria Villa Arcos, I recommend going there, they are the original, they have been consistent for years and have great customer service and the best breakfast tacos in Texas.

Every time I come back here, it seems like they have all new staff and are different, same ingredients, but cooked differently. 1st, the tortillas are more elastic, 2nd, the bacon was not crisp, like it was before..
It was good, but very different.
Yes! Brisket hit the spot and carne guisada was excellent! My favorite was the charro beans, tasted perfect!
Killer tacos and BBQ available. Great service, flavor filled salsa.
