This is a must stop and enjoy Resturant. Fantastic meal, very dedicated owners with a fantastic staff. With in walking distance of the Hilton Gardens Hotel. Stay there so you can walk to and from the best meal you’ve had in a long time.
My wife and I's favorite restaurant in the area. We've never not had a great meal! They also have a good selection of beer, wine and mixed drinks.
We stopped in for a late dinner. The restaurant wasn't very busy.
Our server, Hannah, was great. She was very efficient, but took the time to speak to all and get our orders correct.
The food was incredible. My meatloaf and mashed potatoes were amazing.
If we make our way back to the area, I'd love to stop in again.
First time eating southern cuisine ! What a treat! Everything was delicious and homemade. It really felt like eating at your grandmother's house. Portions were also very generous. The service was a prime example of Southern hospitality. You won't be disappointed! I highly recommend the meatloaf!
Wow, what a great find. We have been coming to Hilton Head for years and once on the Island, we rarely venture off, but boy I am glad we did. The experience started with a warm welcome and big smile from our hostess/owner and then our server. Started with the cool cucumber cocktail. Apps included brie with pear and prosciutto and fried green tomatoes. The tomatoes looked like crab cakes and were amazing with the addition of peaches. I had the ribs with onion straws and coleslaw. Again, excellent. A very large portion led to some takeaway for lunch the next day. No room for dessert, but they sounded and looked good. If you are in HHI this place is worth the trip. Best of all the chef had an Eagles shirt on, go Birds. 🦅
First of all, I didn’t know this place existed among the many stores in this strip. And what a find! Delicious food! Great, friendly service. Even the owner Alexis came out to check on our table! We had soft shell crabs, ribs, burgers, and Brussel sprouts (yummmm!). Will be returning to this hidden gem! Would recommend!
I wasn't sure what to expect when I found this place on Google. It said it was a bar & looked pretty casual. Well, everything here is pretty casual, of course, but I was pleasantly surprised when I was walking up the sidewalk and someone opened the door for me & politely welcomed me inside.
The bar is front & center as you enter, but there is a nice dining area on the other side of the room divider, if you don't care to be in the bar area. The lighting is very nice and so are the tables, although a little close together during these covid times. Unlike Dallas, there aren't masks everywhere, so go at your own risk - wear one or don't seems to be the mentality in these parts.
I sat at the bar & a young man attended me as the server & bartender. He was very nice, professional & knew the menu well. I chose the roasted oysters since I've never had them before. They were served quickly with the best homemade bread ever! I enjoyed the oysters, maybe not as much as the raw, but it's good to try different things.
I ordered a 'seasonal draft - I think it was a white wheat. Very nice.
The owner stopped by a couple of times with a nice friendly smile and asked how I was each time. They weren't real busy (it was a Wednesday night after all the Labor Day visitors had left), but busy enough that the attentiveness was definitely appreciated.
I hope to return on my next visit and try something else new & delish!
First off Alexis was amazing!! What a wonderful personality to be around. Being from the South I look for Seafood when traveling. Their Scallops with bacon, and spinach were cooked to perfection!! Alexis took time out of her very busy schedule to introduce me to some of the wildlife outside that loves attention and food. Tried to take one of the beautiful cats with me. All in all, great experience and great food!! Alexis you were amazing!!!
Hands down, my favorite place to eat in Bluffton. HogsHead perfectly balances the value to delicious ratio offering particularly delicious food at very reasonable prices.
Not a drinker, but I've been told by those in the know that the beverage selection is outstanding. Their former bartender won the Hilton Head Island Wine Festival's bartender challenge, and they keep this tradition alive.
Great for a work lunch, great for a dinner. Not the best place for children, though the owners are quite tolerant of well behaved children. It's not a night out with the family type of establishment, it's a drop in weekly and eat something delicious for work, play, or with a loved one.
Any fish special is general worth eating, duck is great, steaks are outstanding, ribs are piled high, and the skillets are home runs. For lunch, I like the salads, just about any, and the tuna sandwich. During the right season, you can also generally enjoy live music and even an oyster roast or two.
This gem is totally amazing! From the people (owner and staff) that greet and serve you, to the drinks, food, and desserts; this place is not to be overlooked. The chef is outstanding with all of his creations. He works with locally sourced products to bring you a very special culinary experience.
The snapper special was amazing as was the pecan pie. I highly recommend if you’re looking to treat yo’self.
Update to my update: I ventured in for my final visit till I vacation on HHI or convince my wife to drive 4hrs to eat here. Alexis and John are awesome! Going to miss dinners here :(
This is a must eat when in the HHI area. My till the next meal choice was the baby back ribs attempted to finish 4 other times and finally did this last meal. The serving sizes HUGE and the flavor is rich with a hint of spice. Trust me don’t eat to much bread or order an app if you plan on getting these :) added a pick for your mouth water enjoyment.
John, Alexis and Devon (okay the whole staff) I wish you all the best and hope to see you all again soon.
Update: probably my 20th time visiting and left very very very satisfied.
First Review: Great food and wine! Decent beer options too. Almost gave 4 stars because owner is a Flyers fan lol but they get it back for being a Hockey fan in the South.
