Absolutely delicious! Halibut and veal specials of the evening were flawless!! We thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Our server was very busy but 'spot on' with all of our requests. Best meal on HHI in 30 years of fine dining here. Cocktails, prosciutto special appetizer, wine by the glass recommended etc. ... just wonderful!!
We just recently dined at Ombra with friends. We had the best experience starting with our waiter, Ned. He has been there for many years, and he was right on game and a lot of fun too. Our meals were all superb. I had the Branzino with roasted tomatoes and capers. It was a special that evening and I highly recommend it! My husband got the veal with lemon and capers as always because it is so tender and perfect every time. One of our friends ordered the filet mignonette, and it looked amazing! High quality food, service and atmosphere every time!! Thank you Michael and Nunzio.
OMG! The food is soooo good and the service is top notch. Our server was very attentive and personal. She even brought us complementary limoncello drinks for our anniversary. We both ordered the Insalata Mista di Stagione as an appetizer, which was a simple salad with a super flavorful balsamic dressing that had a special tang. I ordered the Orecchiette alla Baresi and my husband ordered the Pollo alla "Zingara.” Both entrees were amazing! For desert, I ordered the Affogato al OMBRA (sundae extraordinaire) and my husband ordered the limonchello mixed berry special. Highly recommend this restaurant!! You won’t regret it.

This was a lovely intimate and charming Italian Bistro. It would make for a romantic night out or a special celebration. The food is excellent and served well. The servers are knowledgeable and attentive. The manager is always watching and checking on the guests. This is a popular place and it is hard to get a reservation so plan ahead. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and it was a delightful evening. The price point is a bit high but a place like this could easily command more.

My husband and I started with their delicious caprese salad, thick slices of form sweet tomatoes topped with fresh mozzarella, the plate was beautifully garnished with fresh basil pesto and a balsamic glaze. Then we went a little off menu for our entrées. He ordered the seared diver scallops appetizer but asked for it as his entree, so they increased the number of the scallops and presented it with a side of sautéed spinach. They were perfectly seared and tender. I order the swordfish special which was grilled then topped with blistered cherry tomatoes, capers and kalmata olives, for my side I wanted to try the spinach tagliatelle served aglio olio (garlic & olive oil), their oil olive is SO flavorful! We really didn't have room for dessert but since my husband had never had Profiteroles we managed to eat them all! Lol The puff pastries were light and fluffy with a slight chewy exterior cut in half with a vanilla cream filling, centered in the three puff pastries was a large scoop of vanilla gelato (which was so creamy and scrumptious) it was all topped with a heavy drizzle of chocolate sauce. Our server Paul was outstanding! The wine list is extensive with a great selection for every budget and palate.
We loved it so much we're going back again tonight!

Excellent! The food, the atmosphere and especially the service. Worthy of a 5-star review, for sure.
Our family went with a large group of 7 so we got to try a large array of the menu and that still was not enough to try all the delicious looking options. The off-menu veal Parmesan was a stand out hit. One of the nightly specials — the Spaghetti Scolio — was a close second, served with an abundant amount of seafood, including a lobster tail and claw. And the halibut with pine nuts was one of the most flavorful white fish dishes I have ever encountered. Out of the 7 of us (2 picky eaters) not one person had a bad — or even mediocre — word to say about the food here. Hilton Heads restaurant scene has upped its game and Ombra is proof.
I would be mistaken to not mention the service we received at this restaurant. Jody went above and beyond for our group. Between taking special orders to accommodate allergies, to choosing the spot she would tell us the specials so that my grandfather could hear — the service was impeccable.
This restaurant passed the test for my family of TOUGH Italian restaurant critics.
I have had Italian meals all over this country including being raised at the table of an Italian mother and grandmother. This meal tonight was a top three meal of all time. The wait staff was great. The wine was great. The entree was great. The dessert was the best I’ve had in a restaurant. Please take the time and enjoy your family around the table with a top notch Italian meal. If anyone doesn’t like this place, you don’t know food.
After a few nights of southern food in Hilton Head, Ombra Cucina Italiana was a welcomed delight. Our kids split a plain spaghetti and we all shared the poached pear salad, Insalata di Pera e Gorgonzola, which was great. We also tried their burrata and prosciutto appetizer special - superbly good. For our entrees, my wife and i each got the Pollo alla Milanese, a chicken parm without the mozz or red sauce. Very excellent and not a belly bomb either. Ombra staff was perfectly attentive and were great with our kids. We dined Al fresco under the shade and we were fortunate to get a few breezes. A greaT night all around! We will be back!
Husband, sister and I had dinner and drinks. Food was excellent, drinks perfection, and service was superb. Highly recommend. Brian was our server, he was fun, informative and very efficient! Thanks for a fabulous dining experience!
Outstanding! Had dinner here with a large group and we all can't stop raving about the food and service! Whether it was the branzino, the pasta, or the gnocchi... it was all top notch. Desserts were amazing as well. Put this place on your short list!
The Bronzini special was incredibly delicious. My duck breast, unfortunately, was undercooked and the red current reduction bland. We love Ombra and will continue to support the restaurant.
