I have eaten there before and the food was excellent, but after tonight, I HAD to leave a review.
My family went in late - 20 minutes before close - because of one of my sister’s graduation. I was nervous about it, having worked in food service before, but the staff was courteous. Then we had a server that knew American Sign Language, which is HUGE since both of my parents are deaf! Reagan was efficient and more importantly, personable.
Food came out quickly and was absolutely fantastic. It made me feel like we weren’t a burden coming in so late.
Great food, great atmosphere, and great service! Will always recommend.
Everything about this place was outstanding. From the food, to the atmosphere to our server it was all fantastic. It was our first time through the area and we will be back and going to the Half Shell will be our first stop. Oh, try the caramel apple martini!
My partner and I have visited this location several times and it is consistently great. The food is fresh, well seasoned, and delicious. We’ve tried many of the items on the menu but the standouts are the oysters Rockefeller, Royal Reds, Fried shrimp, and the Redfish Orleans. You cannot go wrong with any of them. They don’t take reservations so you may wait a bit but it’s never been more than 30 minutes. Enjoy!
When I saw "Voodoo tacos" on the menu while looking for a spot for lunch, I had to try this place. My stomach led me to the best shrimp tacos I have ever had. They had the right amount of kick to them, they were flavorful, and with a side of gumbo, this meal was one of the best I enjoyed while in the area. Paired with a Lazy Magnolia Southern Pecan as well as a vintage bank setting and this place is the full monty. Do not pass this place up if you are in the area.
We spent the holiday weekend in the Gulf Shores with our last night in Gulfport, Mississippi. We found this jewel through Google. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. The almond encrusted chicken, the steamed in garlic crab claws, and the crab cakes/ green tomatoes were recommended by our amazing waiter (Vincent). If you are in the area you must try this place. It is well worth the cost and time. We especially thank Vincent for making our experience a great one.
Wow! The price is amazing for what you get. Pecan and bacon encrusted red fish.
Huge crawfish! Great staff, they take time to chat are on top of it.

No real glaring issues. Great food and great atmosphere!! Prices were a tad steep but military discount was offered.
Absolutely the best place I have eaten! We had array of foods and everything off the chain. First time ever eating oysters, the Rockefeller, so yummy!
We always come to Half Shell to celebrate the big wins! From getting my art into a gallery to deciding to move to Texas! We will miss one of our favorite places on the coast. Amazing food, drinks and servers!
