Super delicious breakfast food! There coffee is out of this world so so so good! Our waiter was super on top everything. We were able to get our food quickly. One fun facets we learned about this place is that is was originally in New Jersey and years ago they transferred the entire diner to Michigan, how cool!? Plus how cute is this place! We Will be back for sure!

I've been here twice now...and never been disappointed. First time was an out to lunch bunch trip with our residents last summer. Second time was this morning with my husband. Food is amazing, staff are wonderful and the owner Dan is very personable! Very cool 50's diner.

I loved going to this establishment when it was Pals, mainly because of the atmosphere and a few of their dishes. It just made me smile to be there. So, I was so glad to see it had reopened. I am happy that they kept the same old time appeal, and it was interesting to see the menu changes. I admit that I felt some of the prices were a bit high, and I was sad to see some things that are normal "diner" fare weren't on the menu any longer...especially the hot turkey sandwich...which Pal's actually made with a thick slice of turkey breast and it was like no other. It would be amazing to see that return to the menu. It's a great comfort food. My sister and I each ordered the enchilada's...which are pictured. I have to say that they were very delicious and the presentation was great. I loved the black beans and rice a lot. The enchilada's were spiced just right. For dessert we each had a shake and it was very good! My only concerns are that the pricing did seem a bit much for a diner. It would be nice if there were a few more inexpensive choices on the menu. I also felt that some of the food just didn't seem to match the atmosphere...which is a diner. The food that I saw coming out of the kitchen looked great and appealing, but it looked like it belonged in a more high end type of establishment. I just felt that the menu should reflect more of a 50s theme like the atmosphere does. Offerings of a more comfort food theme would be nice. If that makes any sense. And, that is just my own observation :) The wait staff were very upbeat and pleasant, and the entire establishment was clean :) I do plan on going back to give some other items a try.

Discovered this hidden jewel yesterday by accident. It has a real neat old school vibe, but more importantly the food was great and service was awesome considering how short staffed they were at the time. I ordered the Cuban while my wife ordered the mile high club. Very happy, and apparently they serve breakfast all day. Fantastic Cascade area diner! Hidden behind Capriotti's on 28th st SE.

So great, can’t wait to go back! The menu made ordering tough, there was so much that sounded delicious. Everyone ended up happy with their orders, the pancakes are amazing.

Great comfort food, breakfast burrito was the perfect blend of heat,. Buttermilk pancakes had a tasty unique texture that my youngest food critic highly approved of. Finished off the Mothers day meal with a strawberry shake and chocolate malt. They even gave us the blender leftovers. We will be back!!!

Dan's Diner served the biggest, tastiest, freshest, stacked club on grilled sourdough bread. It was the best I've ever had.

Other than the wine bottles and lack of a smoky haze this is a great recreation of the diners of the past, complete with jukebox. Serving breakfast and lunch fare, the quality of the food may surprise you. This may also be one of the last places that serves lox, which you should try. Parking is plentiful, and being at the east end of 28th makes it easy to get to.

I love this place. The best diner in Grand Rapids. It is in a old 40's luncheonette. So chrome and linoleum are clean and polished and it looks great. The real star of the show is the food. Brisket eggs Benedict, Lemon Pancakes, and scratch made corn beef hash and sandwiches are our favorites. The lemon pancakes are moist and sweet, and the best in town. They have a fluffy and creamy texture, which is not easy to pull off. Service is always friendly and quick.

This place has excellent good and the prices is good. Small diner but kinda hidden from the street. Only have been here for breakfast, their french toast is the best I've ever had. The staff is super friendly and personable. Easy parking in the front of the building. The building is kinda hard to find but it's behind the bank. Very cool if you want to take photos with the retro furniture and style of the restaurant.
