Good food, Generous portions. No slaw. The young lady serving us was super nice. Tuesday special includes fish or shrimp taco for $4 each. My fried fish taco had a big piece of fish. My mil got the fisherman platter which was large portioned but no veggies. Niece had the kids meal chicken tenders. Adult size portion for $10. Seating is outdoors, covered with fans. Just barely comfortable at lunch 89 degrees outside. Will be back for sure.
Had a great lunch at The West End Marina & Restaurants. Very attentive service from Cheryl, she even provided our dog with his own bowl of ice water ❤️ Billy came by and made sure we were well taken care of. Had the seafood cobb salad, highly recommend. Plenty of crab meat and shrimp in big bed of greens with bacon, blue cheese, red onion, carrots, cucumber dressed with a very tasty lemon parmesan dressing. Husband had house salad with blackened shrimp. Also very good. Got key lime pie to go 🤤 Make sure you try this place!
I really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Honestly, I was disturbed by the birds eating from unbussed tables. They would fly right over your table with scraps in their mouth. My group moved inside and all was well.
I was on a road trip and caught a keeper red from my kayak and wanted to try it but with limited resources didn't really have a way to cook it. This was the only place I could find (I called a lot of places) that would prepare the fish that I caught. The fish has to be cleaned and processed so luckily the marina downstairs had a fillet knife and after I processed my first redfish they cooked it for me. As someone who is not a big fish eater I can say 100% without a doubt that it was the best fish I have ever eaten hands down.
That blackened redfish was so good that for the first time in my life I ate fish until I was completely stuffed. I had leftovers that I could not possibly finish and it was so good that even cold the next morning I stuffed myself off of it again. Like I said I'm not a huge fish eater so me eating that much fish let alone leftover fish that was cold is really saying something.
The food was delicious, some of the best food I had in Texas! I stopped in every single day on my 7 day vacation and tried the entire menu. I swear by all of it! Only downside is the outside seating is not the best during the day, birds are everywhere, and they poop on the chairs and floor. They gotta get that under control.
Heavenly food! Gumbo has chicken, shrimp and sausage. The garlic bread is fresh and perfectly toasted. The boudin and brie eggrolls were divine. And the Bloody Mary, well, it's been a minute since I've had one that good! The service was wonderful. Patrick took excellent care of us! The restaurant has plenty of seating options. Upper deck, lower deck, with multiple viewing options. TVs available for viewing sports. Good news, they loves dogs, so bring your furry friend! We pulled the boat up directly to the entrance and walked in for a fun lunch! I love this place!
The gumbo is the best I've ever had. The fried shrimp is good, but pretty standard.
This place never fails to deliver. The food is always amazing and the atmosphere is relaxed. I ordered the shrimp and grits and it was not only delicious it was well presented. They remove the tails from the shrimp that was deep in the grits and the tails on two shrimp at the top remained for garnish. My wife ordered the chicken fried steak these were both off of the brunch menu. And her chicken fried steak was much larger than you would expect for a brunch it included eggs toast and fruit. I will always come here this is one of my very favorite spots to eat.
We had a nice dinner with the at the West End Martina in early May of 2022. As the downstairs eating area was closed (make sure to check their timetable) we were up on a balcony on the second floor enjoying the ambiance of marina life with some light country tunes from the bar. The waiter was real pleasant and easy to chat with. Beer selection is great - make sure to try Tiki Wheat - a great local Galveston beer. As for food - I did not have high expectations and was not surprised that the food was not anything to write home about (I had a burger). But as I said, the ambiance here matters and we definitely had a fun night here.
We paddled to West End Marina and ate at the Downstairs Sandbar! It was absolutely delicious. We LOVED everything that was ordered. The Ceviche was our favorite, definitely try it. The portions were generous and the prices are fair. Our waiter was very friendly and the service was fast! 10 out of 10!
