The Black Rooster is back. We grew used to the baguettes, pastries and coffee offering at the original Rooster in Forest Lark - the perfect way to finish a riding workout at the Trinity trails. Sadly for us, the new owner transformed the bakery to something that is a disappointment to us. That been said, the owners opened the Black Rooster in Houston street and kept their original mojo! Really enjoyed the breakfast and coffee. We were even able to pre-order the day before our favorite pastries and pick them up to complete a perfect weekend. I look forward to the new coffee offering from the Craftford Coffee.

I went over little before 2pm, without realizing that they close at 2:30pm. They still had a handful of customers sitting at the outdoor seating area and a few customers in the inside. The outdoor seating was not big, but good size and it seemed like it was more popular than the inside. The seating in the inside was pretty good, large enough space, especially for a cafe. As we were lining up to make orders, I got to see all the baked goods and some desserts behind the window showcase. Some of them were sold out, and some only had a few items left. the staffs were letting everyone know that they have ran out of few ingredients at that point. They provide pastries made from scratch, and baked fresh daily. This is awesome, but also limits the amount of baked good that they can provide in a day, especially popular items. Their menu is also limited, they offer croissants, buns, desserts, pastry, and artisan bread. About the time I got there, they have ran out of some ingredients, such as baguette, bacon, avocado, and few other items. I ordered a couple of their macarons, always good to have desserts first, especially if you have to wait for your food to be prepared. The macarons were super delicious! Good size, moist, high quality and flavorful. I wanted take a big box-full back to NYC with me. They also offer some sandwiches with in-house baked bread. I ordered Park Hill Ham, made with Ham, Brie Cheese, and Peach Preserves. Luckily, they didn’t ran out of the filling of this sandwich yet. The sandwich was not too big but had good height to it with lots of ham! Fluffy bread, sandwiching decadent ham, rich cheese and sweet peach preserves, a perfect marriage that produced a happy family that is oh-so-tasty! The staffs were very nice and friendly. I really enjoyed my late lunch here. I would definitely go back for more of their quality food if I am back in Fort Worth!

Fiancé got the strawberry cream cheese pastry and I got the snickerdoodle. They were both very yummy. It was a cute cafe!

Very nice cafe atmosphere. My homeschool girls and i stayed they're working quietly for almost 2 hours. The baked goods were yummy with a nice selection. I wish there was more drink selection, though, for those who don't like coffee. There were only 3 kinds of tea and they couldn't tell me if any were decaffeinated. They also do not serve hot chocolate, warm apple cider, nor any carbonated drinks.

The young lady and her mother are very sweet and attendful. The place is always clean and packed during lunch time. They have plenty of sweet bread and their breakfast like The Benedict and French toast is the bomb. Love this place!

So I just moved from DC and needed to find a bakery nearby to fulfill my croissant cravings. I am a self-described croissant snobb since I studied in France. Y'all...EVERYTHING that I've had from this place has been so great. The croissants are perfectly flaky and buttery. My lunch sandwich was divine. And today I had a sausage and egg handpie that was incredible. Luckily, one of their other locations is also right across the street from where I live (I'll try to mix it up so they don't think I'm crazy for going there everyday). This has become my go-to spot!

Amazing lunch time option! My favorite sandwich is the TCU turkey, but the others are delicious too. The cookies are wonderful and the coffee is smooth and flavorful.
