I came here with my mom for dinner who lives out of town. The lady serving us was kind and helpful. There was a birthday party going on and she still was able to get our food out at a timely manner. Everything we ate was delicious. I got the panang curry and normally I'm asked how "hot" I want it and I wasn't asked that here. However it was served beautifully and tasted fantastic! I highly recommend this place for Thai food!
We chose Thai Basil for dinner! We started off with green tea and appetizers (tender, crunchy coconut shrimp in a sweet dipping sauce and lemongrass mussels with limes and veggies. Sooooo good!) Then we tried a wonderful coconut chicken soup, and the signature dish- Thai Basil shrimp. We were craving something hot so we asked them to make it 'Thai Spicy'. (They can make it as spicy or as mild as you want but I can tell you that if you are craving spicy food that will warm you to your soul, this does NOT disappoint! )
Every thing we got here was so tasty, and the sauces are really unique. They definitely have that 'generations-perfected-family-recipe' kind of flavor. The staff was friendly and attentive and kept our glasses filled. We will definitely be back!
Review from Thai.
We were quite surprised that there’s no Thai in the restaurant and they can’t explain some menu to us. We ordered pad thai, chicken coconut soup and shrimp basil. We requested fried egg on top of rice like Thais normally eat but they can’t provide it. I’d say the food is rather Thai-Chinese somehow. However, the taste was beyond my expectation, it was pretty good, but still the ingredients are not 100% Thai.
UPDATE::
Thanks for remaking my food. It's only fair that I change my review from a 1⭐️ to 4⭐️ (use my gas to return)
GUYS!! COME ON!! $25.00 spent for this meal at 7:30pm tonight. NOT GOOD!! Thanks for the credit Susie, but nbow your closed😭😭😭😭
I had heard great things about this restaurant and finally found the opportunity to try it. It is tucked into a corner strip mall, so it could be a bit tricky to get to. I love spicy foods and had the Thai Basil Shrimp as it stated "If you like spicy, this is the dish for you". Personally, it was not spicy at all, but it was definitely delicious. I came here with co-workers and I was able to snap pictures of some of their dishes to include: Pineapple Curry, Pad Thai, Sesame Chicken, and one other beautifully plated dish. If I may, might I suggest to have the option for spicy levels as I have seen at other Thai restaurants. That would be excellent! I plan on trying this place out again to try their extensive menu and to hopefully try the Mango Sticky Rice dessert that I have heard good reviews about.
My daughters and I love Thai basil. I don't think it's authentic. It kind of reminds me of American Chinese food but the best possible version. If you seek out spicy foods, make sure to order extra spicy. It is affordable and very fast. Staff is always great! If you are a food critic who has been around the world and are seeking authentic Thai food, this is not for you. But it's delicious!
This is one of the BEST Thai restaurants I've ever had hands down!! Everything is delicious & everyone is so friendly. I'm a regular there now. I absolutely love their chicken rice noodle bowl, their orange beef is amazing & of course their signature Thai iced tea is my absolute favorite!!
A family favorite restaurant in Colorado Springs for many years!
Favorite dishes: Spring rolls w peanut sauce, Panang Curry w chicken, and Pad Thai.
My grown kids, who live out of state request takeaway when I go visit them!
It's really that good!
I visit this restaurant nearly every time I'm in the Springs. The drunken noodles are the best. The service is great and I can always count on a consistently good experience. Eat here if you have the chance.
My husband has been eating here for months and I finally have it a try. His food is always delicious, but I wanted to try something else! I ordered the panang curry and it was absolutely delicious! There was quite an assortment of vegetables, all of which were cooked perfectly fork tender. The curry sauce was perfectly spiced and oh, so creamy! I also ordered vegetable egg rolls and steamed dumplings, both of which were as delicious as the rest of the meal. Now on to service: the waitstaff are quick and friendly, and able to make recommendations for any picky eater, including my vegan self! The prices are very reasonable, especially considering the large portion sizes. I will definitely be going back!
