Absolutely delicious....all food is made/served fresh. We showed up without a reservation....and were promptly seated. We were very lucky, this place can fill up. We ordered the high tea, and despite having no reservation, it was served in about 15 minutes rather than the 20 minutes it could have taken (because we had no reservation). I would highly recommend to anyone especially those wanting to have a truly authentic and charming British tea experience. They even had hats to wear during your tea!
The tea room is in the back of the store front and to get through it, you walk through this lovely shop area with authentic British items. They had a freezer space with food items too. We expect to go regularly as my daughters are half British and it's a lovely way to celebrate their heritage without the cost of making a trip to England.
I brought my 93 year old father, who has 100% English ancestry, here for High tea yesterday. We drove down from Denver and it was well worth the drive. The food was delicious and the scones were the best I've ever eaten, even in England! They played lovely classical music and were so kind to my father. They helped me get him back out to the car and seated, which is no easy task. They have lovely things for sale including some wonderful food items. It was a totally delightful experience and we cannot wait to come back with more of our family. It's definitely worth the drive from Denver!
I’ve shopped many tines at the British Pantry whenever I visit Old Colorado City. I often noticed the tea area in the store but only recently did I decide to experience a traditional British High Tea! The experience was awesome! Rick, who served me was well versed in both the properties of the tea as well as explaining the tasty goodies to be enjoyed with that special tea! The food was fresh and well made! I truly enjoyed the experience! If you ever find yourself visiting Old Colorado City don’t miss out on this amazing experience! Highly recommend!!!
Always come here to pick up English chocolate! It is a bit pricey but it’s well worth that amazing chocolate. The ladies who work there are helpful and love to chit chat about England. I love to bring in my English grandmother and remind her of her roots. She has dementia and this place is like home for her. It is honestly bittersweet. I truly appreciate this business being open!
We absolutely love this store and have been coming for the last 3 years. The owner is from the same the same town as my husband. He loves to chat her up about "home." Sad to hear a very historic hotel, over 100 years old, caught fire and was destroyed. Broke our hearts. Charming place with a great selection of foods. We always take a huge haul home! Prices are very good! One of these days we'll do the tea!
I brought my mom and daughter here for high tea on mother's day, it was INCREDIBLE! The food was outstanding and the tea complimented it so well! Everything was perfect, I can't wait to come again.
What a great experience! The tea was delicious, the selections of finger sandwiches, scones and desserts were phenomenal, and the atmosphere was delightful! All the food was freshly prepared and delicious. Many great treasures and pantry items in the shop. I look forward to visiting again.
We had a very nice time here for high tea. Everything was perfect... fun, friendly, delicious. When you go, be sure to grab a hat from their collection to "complete" the experience and enhance your photos. Lots of fun and super-friendly hosts.
Being from Scotland this shop is like home. Great sausage rolls, gotta grab the bisto when I'm there. The irn bru too. Plus the chocolate and crisps. They absolutely love my wee boy as well. So welcoming.
We didn't eat anything while we were there but we loved the assortment of British goodies from all over Britain. Came in with my English boyfriend and his mom, they were skeptical when I suggested we stopped there but they ended up spending over half an hour reminiscing on the various candies and specialty foods sold there. The owner was there and she was very kind.
Hands down the best British selection in the Springs. Would give 6 stars if I could. I've been looking for my favorite British goods for some time now, Wheetabix, Cherry Bakewells, Skips, pot noodles, etc. I found them all at The British Pantry. If you're looking for a high noon tea experience with scrumptious pastries they have thar here with authentic English tea. Sausage rolls are worth the wait! They have a person playing the harp in the tea room, overall a lovely experience. Marie is a lovely woman and I will definitely be shopping at her pantry again.
We love this place! We get all our English treats here. The owners are lovely! Can't go wrong if your looking to get your English fix. They even have a tea party area to really get that English experience. Cheer! 😎🍻
