After a stressful day, this is the place to go for dinner! The steak cooked to perfection and the asparagus with holandaise - so tender and delicious! One of the best Cabernets I’ve ever had and the ambiance was complete with beautiful piano playing made it a definite repeat when I come back to town!! Thank you for a lovely evening!!
Fabulous meal. Filet practically melted in your mouth. Jill, our server was great, very friendly and efficient. Overall great time with friends. We are in town for a conference and someone recommended we give it a try and we were glad we did
You can never go wrong with the Famous. We made a reservation for my girlfriends birthday and were seated immediately upon arrival. All of the staff were professional, cordial, and most of all personable. The pacing of the courses was done impeccably, and there was no sense of urgency to turn a table over. All of the food was beyond perfect and was well worth the price. I was pleased to hear about the surf and turf special as I was torn between mashed potatoes, asparagus, filet, and fish. The majority of my table ordered the surf and turf special. Our bartender/server also made my aviation perfectly. We went during a Sunday dinner, and for such quality, I would suggest making reservations for an even seenless experience. Cheers to the famous steak house for such a pleasant experience.
Okay so let me first say apologies for my Ted Talk… I am going to RAVE about my experience.
I am currently sitting here having dinner & cannot wait to write this review. To start, I manage a 5 star restaurant in Colorado Springs & am VERY hard to impress. I have been waiting for a server/bartender who would give me the level of service deserving of a $100 tip on a lower bill. Everyone, come & FILL UP Bens bar. Ben made me feel so welcomed, happy, & seen. I came in alone & felt more noticed than I usually ever am. The NY Steak was perfect. The wine was amazing. He made me the best old fashion I’ve ever had in my whole life. Like I said, I am VERY picky from the server & bartender I was in my time. Ben, you are who I’ll come to when I want to splurge. You are amazing & I hope the owners & managers give you everything you deserve. I’ll see you soon! Peyton :) thank you.
The steak was awesome 1200 degree sear and cooked to perfection. The salad and sides were great too. The portions are sized for 2. So order 1 meal for a couple and they serve it for the 2 of you.
Best time to come here is during happy hour. Best prices on drinks and oyster specials. Overall the food here is awesome.
We were not a fan of the older lady behind the bar. Very inattentive and a little grumpy.
We chose The Famous Steak House to do an intimate gender reveal for our first child and I was absolutely blown away with Brian C. and the care he took in making this evening perfect.
The food was top-notch, the atmosphere was amazing, and the entire staff was incredible.

This is a high-end restaurant and the service, food and prices reflect that. Beautiful interior and comfortable seating. The decor sets the tone for a celebratory type of meal. Everything we had was absolutely fantastic. Definitely the best steak I've had. The sides are family sized and would recommend ordering in accordance with portion size in mind. The cheesecake was superior to any other cheesecake. The restrooms were clean and easy to locate. We were seated promptly and our server expertly guided us through the menu. Eating at the Famous was a fun amd memorable experience.
This is a special occasion restaurant due to price point. Between $45-65/ steak.
The evening we ate at the restaurant it was not crowded. There was a special brussel sprout side dish that was excellent. Our New York strip had a lot of tendons. Which is why I gave a 4/5. (It’s a steak restaurant) The portions are large. I definitely recommend the restaurant. Just be prepared to walk out with a bill. Our bill was $200- 1 steak(topped w crab-this increased the price),baked potato, 1 salad, 1 side dish,1 crab cake appetizer and 2 alcoholic drinks.
Best place in Colorado Springs for a beautiful cut and cooked steak. The famous steak house has the most professional and well trained staff in the springs. We go here periodically for special events and they never disappoint. Personal recommendations are the crab cakes, loaded baked potato, New York strip and their phenomenal creme brûlée.
Dinner was a pleasure and the staff was so nice. We sat at the bar and I had the filet and a baked potato. The rosemary sourdough bread was to die for.
The only reason I didn't give a 5 is lackluster ambiance. My guess is this place was pretty amazing in the 80s but hasn't been updated since.
That being said, the food was spot on. I ordered the 10oz filet that I ordered medium rare. It's may have been a slight bit more well that I'd prefer the flavor was great. It was seasoned with the perfect amount of salt and pepper...just the way it should be. It was served with the perfect amount of char and crust.
They also have a decent wine list. They have a great assortment of the normals and then several higher end bottles.
The service was top-notch. Everyone was very nice and very accommodating.
If you're looking to impress business clients who prefer a more affluent feel. I'd skip it. But if you want a great steak, I highly recommend it.
