The food was delicious, for the most part. I love that they offered us samples of the meats before we ordered. The sides are numerous and taste of down home goodness. The one dark spot on the meal was the "Smoked Baked Potato". It would have been great except for the fact that it was cold and didn't taste at all smoked. Hands down, the most disappointing part of the meal.

I’m beginning to wonder if my approach to evaluating BBQ joints is all backwards. I’m starting to question if you can actually begin the evaluation process from the parking lot. How you ask? Check the license plates. Even though Rudy’s is located a few miles off the nearest major highway, during every single visit I have invariably noticed various out-of-state license plates in the parking lot. Sure, the majority of plates are registered in Colorado, but how else do you explain the numerous representatives from multiple other parts of the country? It’s gotta be the chow, don’t you think? If you check our pic of the menu you’ll see that all the major (BBQ) food groups are included, without the number of choices becoming overwhelming. That’s key because their simple menu enables them to receive your order, quickly fill it while you’re still standing at the counter, and launch your involuntary salivation response while you scurry to the nearest table. (The brisket literally melts in your mouth, so either avoid dilly dallying or stuff a few paper towels in the corners of your mouth before you leave the counter. 🤤) Although both sauces were terrific, I preferred the “Sissy Sauce” (hey, no rude comments from the back of the room! 😡) and the Country music in the background was the perfect compliment (sounded like 90’s to me). And that’s…Henry’s Take. #bbqmadness #bbqsecrets

The food was very good. The restaurant has a nice environment and open seating, a relaxing place to get some BBQ and a group meal or a date night. The style in ordering then being served at the counter before seating yourself is different, and you should be prepared to stand in a line for nearly an hour before sitting down. Not being able to sit and relax and talk while waiting on food is not a great idea, and the food quality and menu do not offset the time spent standing.

You’ll be able to smell the deliciousness in the parking lot. This place exceeded expectations on every level. From the front desk service gal, who was exceptionally cheery and helpful with our first visit who offered us samples of three different kinds of meat, which helped us make choices we were exceptionally happy with. Like a traditional meat market, you order your meat by the pound. We ordered ribs, moist brisket, turkey and jalapeño cheddar smoked sausage. We’ve been all over the country sampling barbecue in Kansas City, Dallas, St. Louis, the Midwest, and Louisville. This place stacks up with everyone of the “best BBQ” joints around the nation. Top it all off with a casual comfortable atmosphere and you have a winner. Absolutely fantastic.

Went in on Monday October 9th @11:30 am. The line was long, but it moving along just fine. Did not wait long, before I grabbed two items from the fridge (potato salad and chocolate puddings) then I was called to an opened register, where I was taken care off. Then I proceed to order 1/2lbs brisket moist and a 1/2lbs baby back ribs. Total came out to $54 including tips.

I've driven by here dozens of time, finally stop in for a visit. WOW, very impressed, great BBQ, nice people and good gas prices too! They have this To-Go station with pre-wrapped BBQ Sandwiches, so nice if you're on the way to Pikes Peak or on your way home and there's a bunch of traffic. I'll make plans to stop here for now on!

Above average BBQ in Colorado Springs area. I recommend it. Their brisket and ribs are pretty decent. I love the atmosphere the best. Grab some napkins and pick a picnic table. Great way to meet new people or have a big group. They have a salad bar style or add ons like pickles and onions. The sides are decent. No complaints! The gas station and store round out the campus.

This is such a classic BBQ joint. It gives you fast food vibes, but without fast food flavor. The brisket wasn’t super stand out for me, but I am totally still drooling over the pulled pork! The cream corn is more of a sweeter, creamer corn than I’ve had but I enjoyed it. The sauces were alright but I was expecting more out of them! There’s lots of indoor and outdoor seating. The banana pudding was also delightful!

Let's be honest up front: This is a chain restaurant, and is not going to win any awards for the most authentic Texas barbecue. But by Colorado standards this is very good BBQ. Tasty meats, all gluten-free, decent prices, friendly service. The lines can be long but move quickly. Easy way to feed a family. The brisket is the best you'll find in a 40 mile radius. Pork ribs are also good. But sides can be disappointing.
