I have heard about this place for years but finally ordered takeout. The chicken is absolutely delicious. The sides are also very good. Yucca and the peppers with spring onions. Awesome
Staff was gracious by staying open late for us. The chicken was wonderful and the side of sweet corn was a pleasant surprise. The side of grilled jalapeños came with delectable onions in an appetizing presentation. My son's four tacos were full of flavor and filling. We savored the cuisine and consider if a good value. Next time I'm in Charlottesville, I'm skipping the chain and going back to Al Carbon Chicken!
Authentic Peruvian Chicken. This place is tucked in the corner of Woodbrook shopping strip. I must eat here every two weeks. Its a small, clean place, family owned and operated. The food has the authentic seasonings and flavors of South American cuisine. The rotisserie chicken is a must have if you have not been before- very moist and flavorful. When I'm not going for the chicken, a solid second choice is the Cemitas. The sides are great and the staff takes the time to explain items on the menu well. If you've never been you might recon the menu online. It seems to help the people i take there for lunch during the work week. Its a good find and definitely beats any fast food chain when you have 30 minutes for lunch.
Ordered Chicken taco and roast chicken (half) and some fried plantains. All of them are so good! I’m not a big fan of chicken dish but these chicken, even for me, is so good! Not dry at all, full of flavor and meat juice.
Wonderful space to bring family and friends to enjoy authentic food. Everything was absolutely delicious and would highly recommend if you have not tried it yet!

The chicken here is REALLY good. They cook it on a rotisserie and you can literally taste the smoked flavor that the flames give it. I highly recommend trying any of their chicken here. I got the flautas- I was worried that 4 flautas wouldn’t make me feel full, but it is definitely enough for a meal. Also, I recommend their chicken burrito. I’m not usually a fan of burritos (I prefer tacos or enchiladas), but this burrito is well made, has a delicious sauce, and is quite filling. Also, they have good horchata - which I LOVE.
Overall food is well-made and good quality. I recommend calling ahead because the wait times aren’t exactly a quick turnaround.
My husband and I stopped in here on our recent vacation and we were not disappointed! The chicken was unbelievable, and I loved the street corn as well. My husband got the steak sandwich and he thought it was amazing! We will definitely be coming back here if we’re ever in the area! Highly recommend!!!
Fantastic eatery. You will not find tastier roast chicken in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Or, for that matter, in the mid-Atlantic. Prices are reasonable. Traditional as well as creative sides, in generous sharing sizes. You can choose all white or all dark. A multitude of sauces. Kids love the plantains and the roasted vegetables--win win. And for adults, the frozen margaritas are yum and travel well To go orders always ready when promised, even during busy times. Do yourself a favor -- support local and become a regular. You can feed a family of four for the price of 2 chip***e bowls.
Went out for lunch there and the service was good, the food was excellent, and management does a very good job at keeping the place clean and in order. Would definitely recommend going here.
In a word authentic! Great smells and food is amazing. Definitely worth your visit and your money. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Definitely get the rotisserie chicken and one of their amazing sides. They sell alcohol too.
