This was our first time eating here. We love Sushi and wanted to try it. It was very crowded, however it was Saturday night. We sat at the bar which was fine for us but if you like room I would recommend waiting on a table. The food was AMAZING! We ordered a California roll, wasabi roll, and tiger roll. All three were perfect! If your looking for Sushi this place is it! Loved it!!
I love this place. Good service. Good food and friendly atmosphere. A little small but the food is worth it..
After reading from multiple sources that this is some of the best, if not the best, sushi in Charlotte, I knew I had to try it. We came on a Friday night around 8 and it was crowded, but we were able to be seated at the bar immediately. I get the feeling that it is crowded all the time. The service was prompt and thorough. We had our food in no time. The sushi was delicious! It was the right temperature, and all the flavors came through. I highly recommend the Mexican roll. Reasonably priced. You really cannot ask for more.
The always appear to be busy. The food does come out quick. I enjoyed seeing the sushi being made. It is a small place but a lot of people can be seated inside and there is seating outside. The presentation of the food is beautiful.
Food was excellent, and the portions were very reasonable. The place was hopping on Saturday night, but we still received quality service and food. Will definitely be coming again.
Would recommend the "Favorite" roll - the Crispy Tuna was also quite nice (those two pictured here). Also tried the Sweet Dragon and Crispy Bagel rolls
Loved this beautiful little sushi restaurant.
They have won several awards and is very highly rated place in the area.
We got a several : volcano roll, dragon roll and cruncy spicy tuna.
Not the best we had but its good.
Worth the hype.
Note: since the place is small, it could be busy duting prime hours and wait time can vary.
Enjoy!
Such a great sushi place a little bit outside of the Charlotte City area. But it's definitely worth the drive! The quality of the sushi and price is unmatched. Around dinner can be busy and it's first come first serve, so be prepared for a short wait.
Waited 30 minutes to be seated because of how popular it is. Decided to get the sushi sashimi combo. Started with a hot sake, which was generally what I expected. Miso soup was good. The rice in the sushi was not of good quality and brought down the flavor and enjoyment of the meal.
Fantastic service and great sushi. We came for lunch, and they served us right away. The sushi was to die for.
I had the Tamago, king crab, bagel roll, and California roll.
New Zealand is located off Monroe along the Matthews border. It’s a small but great spot for fresh sushi.
They’re back open to in person dining post-Covid and the food continues to remain consistent after all these years. While NZ has assorted bentos and entrees, the nigiri options and rolls are the top things to order. Toro and Sake are my favorite nigiri options. The rolls I gravitate towards are the Rainbow Roll, HOT Roll and Sweet Dragon (Tempura, Eel & Avocado).
Service is friendly and the food comes out quick. There are a few tables out front for outside dining on those hot summer nights. Great spot off Monroe in an under appreciated part of Charlotte.
One of my granddaughters loves sushi and begged me to take her here, so we went a few days ago. This place is all about sushi, but I'm not really a fan, but they do have other dishes. She had the "Caterpillar" and it was really good! Mine was also very good. The atmosphere is basic strip mall, so one star off for that. Overall a great experience!
Loved New Zealand Cafe in Charlotte North Carolina. No frills. Thursday at 6PM and waited 30 minutes. It was worth the wait. We had six rolls, pieces of tuna and tamago. Everything was delicious. The service is really good as well!! Would definitely go back.
