This is one of the few non-chain restaurants near the capitol and I went for lunch Friday July 1. I had a blackened catfish sandwich, fries and a Cincinnati canned beer, and they were delicious. The sandwich looked small, but it turned out to be plenty. The gentleman who served (the owner?) was very courteous and I think he sincerely wanted my business.
Just moved to Charleston so of course I had to come try out a new restaurant. So glad we chose Tricky Fish! The tacos were amazing. Large portions, great flavor, probably some of the best beans I've had. The staff was super nice and welcomed us. Love the patio seating. I've heard great things about the hush puppies as well so we will definitely be back!!
This place is amazing! Stopped here on a Saturday night on the way home. These were the best tacos I ever had and even though they were busy and there was one person doing everything, my food still came out faster than the chain restaurants! I would highly recommend for anyone looking for good food, good times, and good service, will definitely be back next time I'm in the area! Also conveniently located across the street from the capitol complex and right off the freeway, look for the gravel parking lot!
If you don’t try the vegan crab cake sandwich, you’re missing out on one of the best meat substitutions in West Virginia. This sandwich tasted like an authentic Maryland crab cake. The vibe is fun, colorful, and lively. The staff are aware of plant-based preferences, and I felt confident that there wouldn’t be any accidental cheese or mayo in our takeout order. I love the patio seating and draped lights!
