Between the food and the people - I don't think Charleston, WV has a better dining location.
The culture I've experienced at The Block is telling of employees' and mangers' ability to balance competence with empathy. When bringing service to customers, the staff is patient, knowledgeable, and servers even balance that with timely service.
Thank you for always being a guys restaurant, but moreso, GREAT PEOPLE.
Went here on Labor Day as it was my better half's birthday. First time and we were greeted with a friendly smile and helpful host. Got seated inside (both inside and outside seating). Holly, our server came over and greeted us and was very attentive and helpful and answered all questions. I had the scallops over risotto, and she had the crab cakes with fresh, tasty mashed potatoes and glazed carrots. All delicious and well made. The menu had everything from steaks to seafood. The varied appetizers sounded so incredible that we want to go back and just have a few of them for dinner. They also have a full bar and nice microbrew selection. I tried the stout and a raspberry wheat. She received a free glass of wine and a free desert (Skillet brownie with ice cream, Mmmmm...) for it being her birthday (bring your driver's license to show). A nice lady customer heard it was her birthday and sang Happy Birthday in a most beautiful voice. We will be going back. Try it, you'll like it!
The most incredible Filet I have ever had! And the dessert waffle..two thumbs up! We will definitely be back.
Food was delicious, and the service was very nice. The pasta is my favorite!
My wife and I decided to try it out and we absolutely fell in love with this place. Everyone was friendly and the social distancing and sanitation of tables was on point. We cannot wait to come back. The food was amazing. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars but cannot.
The scallops we had were really good. The crab dip and the brownie were both barely warm so they were that good. We went in about 40 mins before closing so things may have been better if we got their earlier. Would give it another try if in the area again. Service was great.
Great service. Excellent food. Had the Lamb 🐑 chops and the short ribs with the scallops appetizer. Glass of recomeded 🍷 wine and it was a great experience. Discount because I was staying at the Hampton inn. All good ☺️👍!
