Excellent meal!! We had a late lunch in town, plus it was extra hot out so we decided to stay in the hotel for dinner to make it easy. Started with a little she-crab soup which was very tasty. I had a medium rare salmon with crispy skin over cauliflower mousse and baby beets. It was perfect. My son got the cheeseburger with pimento cheese and tomato jam- which he really loved. Daughter kept it simple with some plain buttered pasta with pine nuts- you could definitely tell it was housemade though. My wife had the green goddess salad with crab and roasted radishes-AMAZING! I hate radishes but these tasted so good, I finished what she didn't. We ended the meal by sharing the flourless chocolate cake with raspberry sauce and the challah bread pudding with candied bacon. Both were excellent. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone who likes good food.
Outstanding spot for brunch! Had steak/eggs and Mills Bfast. Really nice dining area! Relaxing.
Great place to eat, lots if history in the building. Food was delicious, service was above and beyond.
Went back for brunch. The shrimp and grits were good. The mimosas had more champagne than juice, which is awesome! The hostess was just as nice and friendly as the last time I was there. They also had a guy singing and playing the piano which I thought was a nice touch. Will be back!
Loved this place. The manager is actually who we dealt with the most and he was so friendly and attentive. Our food was delicious and the coffee is amazing. We will be back for sure. Top notch service!
Went with my brother-in-law to celebrate my birthday. The waitress senu from playing in a band with her husband. The service was great the Bloody Mary was excellent and the omelets were way bigger than I thought! Kind friendly and nice people. Give it a shot if not just go in and have a Bloody Mary!
We had such a pleasant breakfast this past Sunday while visiting Charleston for our anniversary. Our waitress was so attentive and friendly. I can't remember her name but she was a very sweet black girl. The food was amazing. The pianist also added a great atmosphere while dining. We will definitely make this one of our favorites when in Charleston again.
Family stayed 1week here in Charleston at The Mills House, Beautiful historic hotel. We ate Brunch and Dinner several times at Barbados Room. The food and staff were Amazing!! Went above and beyond. Would highly recommend!
So, we went for Restaurant Week and the food was really, very good. My friend tried the oysters on a half shell and I had the she crab soup. He was quite impressed with his oysters and other than wanting a little more sherry in my soup, I was pleased as well. For the main course, I tried the short ribs over collards with fingerling potatoes. Umm umm good! He went with the fresh catch which was wreck fish. Had a little kick to it he said. We both cleaned our plates. The choice dessert was a cinnamon cheesecake. It was so cute and small, almost delicate looking. But that first bite was like wow! I ate every last bit. Every. Last. Bit. It was our first time, but I'll definitely be returning soon. By the way, I hear they have a killer brunch too.
Lovely restaurant in a beautiful and historic hotel. The food was great, not extraordinary, and the service was on point. The only ding is that they had a slightly high $25 corking fee per bottle of champagne we brought in.
