Always a great places to eat. Tough decision between the brunch menu and regular menu. One of us decided to get the Churro French Toast. Loved. My faves are the brisket taco, carnitas taco, and the street corn!
So if ya all follow me, I am all about the Happy Hour.
Taco boy has $5 margs on Tuesday and they are very tasty. Unfortunately no food deals but the food here is excellent. I have eaten many many times.
Great staff, nice vibe and a nice big patio for your doggy👍
For a place that has "from scratch" everywhere, I would've thought they would make the tortillas in-house. Awesome environment and great service though. I give them the Texas mexican food stamp of approval!
It looked a little sketchy from the side of the building but don’t let that deter you from entering this creative inviting space. The service was top notch and space inside and out can keep you entertained for hours. The food was so amazing I ordered two plates for myself. Try the street corn and BBQ brisket, it will not disappoint. Overall 9/10 and cannot wait to visit again!!
Beautifully decorated out of the busy main stream of downtown Charleston. I had the buttermilk chicken tacos and they were fantastic! Sat outside - it was a beautiful Night. They have a really cool bar area, it's really big. Servers were very friendly and attentive.
Charleston and Taco = Taco Boy! Everything is made fresh and served to order. I had the Taco Boy Salad with Ahi Tuna plus a Fruit Bowl. Absolutely Delicious. They have indoor and outdoor seating and the service was great. My only complaint is we need more Restaurants like this where I live. Guess I will have to come back to Charleston for more!
My visit to Taco Boy in Charleston was absolutely delightful! Starting with the fried peas appetizer, I was already impressed. The real star, though, was the Grilled Chicken main course. It was a mouthwatering masterpiece with tender grilled chicken, Monterey Jack cheese, and the perfect blend of salsa cruda, sour cream, and guacamole, all wrapped in two delicious flour tortillas.
Carlos M. provided impeccable service, making the experience even more enjoyable. His attention to detail and friendly demeanor truly stood out. The ambience at Taco Boy was equally fantastic, with a vibrant and inviting atmosphere that added to the overall charm of the restaurant. I can't wait to come back for more of their fantastic food and top-notch service!
The vibe here is probably better than the tacos. But it’s good and worth going to. What should you order? Here are the recommendations for the tacos. For lunch, if you get apps, you only need two tacos (or one quesadilla). We got a little bit of everything and so the recommendations are the stack rack order of the food we got from best to worst:
1) Birria taco (and birria quesadilla)
2) Carnitas taco
3) Brisket taco
4) Bacon Chicken Ranch (but really, can you call yourself an authentic Mexican place if you carry this taco?)
5) Buttermilk Chicken (we heard this one was good, but several of us got it and no one was overly impressed)
6) Firecracker Shrimp (grilled)
7) Fried Avocado
We also got the Trio Sampler. Queso isn’t great. The guacamole was good. The salsa was a little bland. And finally we tried the Mexican Street Corn and it was definitely worth getting.
Finally, be advised that they carry Pepsi products, not Coke products.
Went here on a Friday night with 8 coworkers and the place was packed. Our wait was about 30 min. The outdoor area was dog friendly, with plenty of heaters its larger than inside area. Our server was fast and friendly. The signature dish is the corn on the cob. Make sure you try it. I had the fish tacos and roasted cauliflower . It was all very good, much better than I had imagined. Two thumbs up for the manager for being so understanding. One member of our party had concerns of specific food items that they shouldn't eat. The manager got her what she wanted and did it so rapidly we were all surprised. Our evening here was one of the best I've had in Charleston. Thank you so much.
When planning our trip to Charleston, our 15 year old son found Taco Boy online and requested that we eat there. It was an excellent find. Our server was Erin, and she did a fantastic job. All three of us had a delicious dish. We shared the chips and queso as a starter - WOW! The Tempura Avocado tacos were piled high. The Veggie Quesadilla was amazing. The Chicken Quesadilla was hands-down the best one that my husband has ever had. The atmosphere was fun and had an authentic Mexican feel to it. Everywhere you looked there was something artistic, interesting, or unique to see. It was a delightful experience, and we'll definitely be back for seconds.
