My favorite hangover and/or lazy weekend food. It's your typical tasty-but-not-mind-blowing comfort-food Chinese place. I'm so into the wonton soup, and usually get lo mein or fried rice to go with it. I wouldnt recommend the shrimp as a meat option for whatever you get, go pork or chicken.
A nice lunch buffet and good service and to go orders are the primary strengths here. Otherwise it's simply your basic small Chinese restaurant.
A pretty decent place and typically you get what you pay for. I will never complain for getting decent food for reasonable prices, ever! Id take 3 types of chicken and fried rice over a piece of brick (jimmy johns sandwich) on any given day.
I have always had pretty nice people taking my order and never had a problem. People who are cribbing about this place are just people who wanted to eat yet another sandwich or a gumbo but came to a Chinese restaurant!
The food was more than enough for at least 3 servings. Very fresh vegetables and rice! Suggest the lo me in and mixed vegetables. If you don't expect more than what their offering then you won't be disappointed.
Bang for your Buck. You can't beat the lunch special which includes 3 items, fried rice/lo mein, and a drink for 6.99.
Excellent everytime I go to this restaurant food is fresh and delicious...cheap nd good.
If you expect anymore than a cheap Chinese plate lunch you'll be disappointed.
For what it is, it is great. Nine Dragon is by no means gourmet, so if you're looking for something more than just inexpensive, take-out Chinese you're in the wrong place. But Nine Dragon is easily my favorite of the Chinese take-out restaurants in BR-- I have yet to be disappointed with one of their entrees. Some days, the fried rice can be a little dry, but I find that's more of an anomaly than a consistent.
Some people have said that the staff is rude, but in the 6 years I have been going to Nine Dragon, I have never had that experience. Every time I have been there they are smiling and happy to take your order.
Favorites: Chicken with mixed veggies (ask them to make it spicy!); szechuan chicken; sesame chicken
Only good general's chicken in baton rouge!
The amazing chicken is actually amazing! The service is always speedy, but they could be a little more friendly. Still my second choice for chinese in Baton Rouge.
Definitely a 5 stars! Got a great meal for a very reasonable price. More filling than Cane’s for almost half the price! As to if it’s better than Cane’s, that’s subjective. But it definitely has a more home-cooked taste!
Also the couple who run it (I believe) are very nice and will make sure you get whatever you need.
I’m going to be real. This place has the best consistent great Chinese food around the LSU / Burbank area. Never had a bad experience. Great and friendly staff. Obviously the covid-19 situation has impacted the interior of the restaurant slightly with extra protections for both the staff and customers, but, isn’t that what we can expect pretty much anywhere? This place is the best kept secret around for more than enough for your dollar tasty food.
I have lived in baton rouge for years and this place has never disappointed me. They are easily the best local Chinese take out near LSU. Take a break from the student union panda express and give this place a try.
Their food tastes amazing and they give you much more food per dollars you pay. Its almost double the portion you can get from izzos (The fast food just next to them), with the same price or even cheaper!!
Most consistent Chinese restaurant in the LSU area. Good portions as well.
Some of the best singapore noodles I've ever had. Very flavorful and spicy.
