The food was amazing from start to finish. The escargot was served on bread with mushrooms and a delectable sauce. Then I had the double crab cake special. Omg! Hardly any filler and tasted perfect. My husband got Beef Bourguignon which was the best ever. The sauce was to die for. Had to ask for more bread to dip it in there. My friends git the encrusted pistachio salmon which was cooked to perfection and the cous cous that was served with it was awesome. The other friend hit the hanger steak which was sooooo tender and yummy. And of course you gave to get dessert. She makes every so wonderful. Pastries, strawberry shortcake were magnificent. We will definitely be back!!
I ordered the crab cake something I don’t really eat, but was in a hurry. Needless to say I ate the fries and coleslaw and not the crab cake thinking I would give the crab cake to my friend...man when I got home I tore that crab cake up, best crab cake I have ever eaten! No fillers all white lump meat can’t wait to go back!
Cute little place to dine outside for dinner. I ordered linguini with clams. It was a little salty, but not bad enough for me not to eat it. I enjoyed it. The crab soup could've used more crab, but it was pretty good. Lots of ppl walked by with dogs and it was fun seeing all the different breeds go by as we ate.
Cute and cozy bistro with GREAT food, coffee, service, and atmosphere. Attentive waiters, lovely decor and interior lighting, great, uncomplicated menu, friendly prices, and wonderful tasting food!
I've been twice so far on visits to Baltimore. Most recently, I got the Croque Madame sandwich, consisting of ham, cheese, an egg overeasy, and bread, drizzled with a creamy white sauce and includes a side of delicious thin cut French Fries. It's well presented on the dish, it satiates the appetite, and it doesn't break your wallet. Very delicious and wholly recommended by me!
I also got a Cappuccino which, common enough, was delicious and comes in a large cup. The atmosphere, too, is pleasant and feels relaxing to just sip and unwind.
They had, too, a live jazz band playing upstairs over the balcony while I dined by the front window below. It was very enjoyable and really elevated the experience.
I haven't tried much else yet of the menu, but am looking forward to in the future. I also showed up on a Friday evening without a reservation and didn't encounter any seating problems. Parking outside is paid street parking until, I believe, 6pm (double check and read meters). I didn't encounter any parking issues either, and was able to find a spot pretty quickly.
Overall, I love this place and definitely recommend it!!
Pricing was $14 for the Croque Madame + Fries, and $5 for a Cappuccino.
5/5 stars from me!
It feels like I'm in French. I truly love the people here and the bartenders are great. If you get a chance, say what's up to Kat
I went back here on the 3rd of December 2023
In order Maryland crab soup and brie and apple sandwich. This first incident wasn't very good. The fries where room temperature and the sandwich with lackluster.
The food was good, we did have some dishes which needed a little more pazzaz, the waiter was more than helpful in making the particular dish to our liking... you really can't beat that type of service.
I love coming here. It’s always a nice little spot to sit and have a good meal. The food is great and the owner, Marie, is really sweet. I was introduced to this place by some of my friends who happen to be close friends of the owner and I’m always really pleased every time I come. They are doing outside seating right now with heaters at night and it’s still a nice little cozy setting in Mt. Vernon. Really recommend
I met such wonderful staff while here. Such a cute and charming place to dine! Organic and fun energy. Good music. Old, rustic feelings. I tried their brunch and will be back for dinner! Rosa and the whole team treated me with excellence. Loved it! Can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu.
Popped in for a pre-dinner drink and I'm so happy we decided to stay for their small plates. Escargot Forestiere was delicious... I. Mushroom was a nice blend and the sauce was on point. Had the French Pear and it was a polished blend of refreshing and potent. Wish we had time to stay for dinner!
I can always recommend the shrimp provencale, 3 jumbo shrimp in a flavorful garlic sauce on toast points. Since we were splitting that and another dish, we asked the chef to add one more shrimp and toast point so we could each have two and charge us appropriately. Our other dish was just okay, a vegetarian couscous dish with zucchini and garbanzo beans. Thin broth, not hardy enough for my liking. They could use a good tea selection. I think they only had black. Excellent service!
I was walking the neighborhood with friends and randomly stumbled into the restaurant which was a wonderful happy accident. They had a great live music duo playing in the patio outside which really added to the ambiance.
I chose the 3 course meal with the MD crab soup, sea bass, and dessert. The crab soup was good, but the highlight was the sea bass with risotto and asparagus. Cooked to perfection!
So glad I happened upon this restaurant!
On a warm October night, we had a delicious dinner at Marie Louise’s Bistro. Our last time here was about one year ago. We first shared a Mediterranean salad. Then, my husband had the bouillabaisse and I had the shrimp provençale. Everything was very tasty, and it was fun and relaxing to sit outside.
