Great place for handmade cocktails. They have several house infused alcohols and can make just about any drink that you can throw at them. The inside of the establishment is warm and cozy. This is one of my favorite bars to go to if i want to chill out and have a fancy drink.
I highly recommend Rio Rita if you want a well-made cocktail. The place is very cute, decorated with old chairs and couches and lovely local art is for sale on every wall. They have a nice big patio to enjoy as well.
I leave near their new location and am excited to have them in the hood. Service is great. It has a cool vibe. There are lots of outlets to study while sipping a cocktail. The AC is horrible so you have to find the right spot to keep cool in the summer.
Favorite East Side cafe/bar. They have very inventive cocktails, a fun interior and a nice outdoor space which is great for groups. It's definitely casual, kind of like Spiderhouse in it's signature quirky Austin hipster vibe, but with better drinks.
This was my first visit to the new location. The patio is huge and has an eclectic collection of seating options, which was cool. I took away a star because I came in craving a frozen Irish coffee, my go-to at the 6th street location, but they don't have it anymore. Also, the drinks are a bit pricy for the location. $9 for a Hendrick's and soda is steep for the Eastside.
I liked the old location better but good drinks and good people behind the bar are what you will always find at rio. It lost its nice cozy home feel when they moved to the new location but the bigger space offers more business and events I suppose. Still 5 stars, always. Try their signature drinks, you won't be disappointed. I love the bloody marys!!
The drinks are cheap, the atmosphere is funky and the east side is hip. Do you know what is not hip? Not having air conditioning. Especially in the summer of 2011 when I write this review and we are facing our fifty-something-th day of triple-digit heat.
Tip your bartender well. It's a miracle they haven't passed out while making your cocktail.
I recommend the house margarita: not too sweet.
A fun dive bar with original cocktails at reasonable prices. A large back area with picnic tables and misters makes up for the more crowded inside area. I will say that their infused whiskeys seem to have too much infuse, not enough whiskey, as they are tasty but have no bite left. So yeah, all the drinks are a bit on the fru-fru side, but they certainly are tasty.
One of my favorite places to relax and hangout in the afternoons!
The girls are great, the music is always nice, the beer makes me happy,
as well as having eye candy every now and then :P
But it really is a perfect place to hang out with friends or
even have a first date.
Quirky little place with places to chill and chat with your drinks and friends. Always feel welcome. Friendly, has outdoor seating, fried pickles! And a food truck outback. Great spot to hit on a bar crawl.
