The service was prompt, one on one, friendly, easy to communicate orders and conversate with the staff. Warm welcoming environment, food was excellent, well seasoned, and very fulfilling southern food. I would definitely dine again and refer others.
The food is Amazing...The Atmosphere is Down Home...The Tea is One of a Kind and Lawd the Fried Fish brought to your table...Easy In and Easy Out!!

It was a wonderful and great experience for my first time to attend the national Pan Hellenic Counsel meeting at Murrell cafe. The food as always and forever will be outstanding. The fellowship, scholarship, and uplifting amongst the divine 9 was great. I have learned a lot. Great location and good food will go a long way. A shout out to my Frat brother and the Murrell family. RQQ🐶🐶🐶🐶🐕....Jaysen Berkley 5 -16 KAA
The service was poor. The food was spectacular. The location is really interesting.Inside a college cafe
I went here first and foremost for the historical value and secondly for the food. So, my expectations were tempered in that order. Staff is light but I think they may get busy on the weekend for brunch, because they have a huge main seating area and a cozy sized secondary are too. I tried a little of everything the day I came. The fried chicken is good along with the fried fish (whiting). I tried mashed potatoes & gravy (delicious gravy), mac n' cheese were cheesy, collard greens had a very nice taste and were seasoned well, yams (were cooked perfectly), rice was hard (either undercooked or dried out from heat lamp), the pork backbones are divine (even before hot sauce was added)
Absolute wonderful experience. Food was great. Service was awesome. For the longest I've searched for a good soul food spot that I can really enjoy on the West side of Atlanta. I'm glad my friends told me about this place. I just wish i worked closer in town because I'd be eating here for lunch several times out of the week.
Great service and a truly hidden gym. Fresh fried chicken and fish was unlimited as well as rice and gravy, mac and cheese, collard greens and corn bread. There were a few more food choices but that's just what I had. If only the line of people waiting for a seat at another soul food restaurant right up the street knew about this. Maybe they wouldn't have tired out their legs and bore the brunt of the weather as I got an immediate seat and had a delicious meal.
Amazing food. Stumbled across this place on accident...friendly welcoming staff & tasteful southern cuisine. Will def make this a staple stop in my visits to ATL. No complaints. Also, Yolanda was so warm & welcoming towards us from the minute we walked in. Love love loved it here.
Staff is great and the food is amazing. Love the fresh fried chicken and fish. Very casual even better to be here on Father's Day and not have to wait to be seated or to eat! Love it. We will definitely be back
What a pleasure it was to stumble across this hidden gem. Yolanda made this a great experience. Southern Hospitality at its finest. I ordered a waffle and omelette before seeing the cooked food. The baked chicken was juicy and well seasoned. Collard greens that I once hated were awesome! The candied yams were point blank delicious. ..... There is more to offer, so visit for yourself! Oh! btw the set up inside will completely shock you.
Wonderful place to eat. I am from MS so it is difficult to find some soul food that's better but this is amazing. The food is superb. It is in a hideaway area bit please don't judge the book by its cover. I was stuffed to the max. Please try.
