Amazing experience here; what a hidden gem! The beer was excellent with a nice variety of IPAs. As if that wasn’t good enough, the food was exceptional as well. To top it off, the staff was friendly and welcoming. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in Alpena!
Always great beer and food. Had a great setup during the pandemic as well. This is a place worth driving hours out of the way for just to get great beer and food.
We have come every year since they opened, minus 2020. We drive an hour just to dine and drink here. Food and beer is excellent along with friendly service. The wait is worth it. Hope to see you in Florida some day. See you next year on our next vacation.
Awesome micro brews and delicious food! Very large beer selection (no spirits). The food selection was good (the fries with house made catchup was great!). All the staff were friendly even though they were short staffed. Just a short walk from downtown Alpena.
Great place! Amazing food and tasty brews! Had a Ruben sandwich with fries, substituted the sauerkraut for slaw. A damn good meal. Large portions. All of the beers were delicious. Tried 4 in a flight. Sad that they only had one stout to indulge in, but being it's not in season, I totally understand. I will definitely be back again! Well worth the drive! And the service was great too!
Austin Brothers is the new jewel of Alpena. A delightful hotspot that this sleepy town so desperately needed. The beer is great and the food is on par. Pair that with their wonderful staff and it makes for a highlight of any day.
Truly amazing find here in the Great White North. Great beer. Great food. Fast, friendly and efficient service. Sometimes a bit crowded, but take that as an indication that the food and drink are exceptional. Did I mention that the beer is awesome?!

Ok, Alpena, MI isn't on the most well-worn path, I know, I used to live here. But still, if you're in the area, come here.
The service is quick and friendly indoors or in the covered and heated outdoors area.
I went with the walleye sandwich and fries. (I used to catch these bad boys, they put up a terrific fight, but I never ate fish as a kid so I missed out on a lot of good food.) The batter uses their Nrthrn Lts Golden Ale and may have been the best piece of fish I've ever had between two buns, and I had whitefish yesterday! The fries are coated with a light batter, as well, and they rock. I hadn't eaten in 19 hrs and I'm full. My son's bacon cheese burger was very good as well.
And the beer, except the Brown Ale, was good. The Blood Orange Pineapple Smoothie was well flavored, but the Cherralyzer was a touch weak. The Brown was all bitter, burnt coffee. The Double Red Raspberry Gose & CooCoo for Cacoa Imperial Stout were phenomenal! Check out the pictures for the whole list. You'd need all day to try them all, plus a designated driver.
