My boyfriend and I decided to try this restaurant while having a nice weekend getaway and it was such a fun experience. Unbeknown to us, it was Alpena's Ice Fest weekend and town was busy. We arrived without a reservation and was told kindly it would be a 30-40 minute wait. Well we had waited patiently for at least 40 minutes standing at the door while people came and left some not interested in waiting while others (smarter) had reservations; then a few chairs at the bar opened and we decided to sit there the rest of the evening and we are glad we did. A couple to our left had been there a bit waiting for a table and just about the time our food came out the couple were finally seated. It was very busy but the relaxed Ambience at the bar suited us just fine we enjoyed the food greatly and our server/bartender Kelly was greatly appreciated as she was very diligent in her job keeping our glasses full, asking if we needed anything else and she was very kind. Both of our meals were prepared exactly has we ordered and that in itself is a huge compliment! I would highly recommend going to this Ristorante just an FYI you may want to make reservations if there is a local event. Thanks again Kelly and staff for a very nice evening out!
Amazing food! Great friendly service!
First time dining at this restaurant. Went here for my birthday dinner and we were not disappointed!
We had mussels as an appetizer. They were cooked perfectly and the sauce was “dip worthy”.
We also had the goat cheese and cranberry salad. Again, amazing! The flavor combination was perfect!
And we had the pecan crusted halibut. Uhm. True perfection!
We even had the cream brûlée for dessert. It was very creamy with the perfect toasted crystallized top.
Oh, yeah, the garlic bread! Thick sixes or crispy toasted French bread with garlic butter oozing everywhere.
This place is a unique and one of kind restaurant. Fabulous food, service and very kind!!! It started with wonderful bread, generous samplings of beer, to an incredible entree… I had the Scallops Risotto which was outstanding!!! The meal ended with a made in house amazing dessert…chocolate peanut butter cake…yum. Our waiter over heard it was our anniversary and the dessert was on the house! Highly recommend and we will return for sure when we travel up this way again!!!
Awesome food and drinks and our Server Evan was 5 star all the way 😊👍👍👍👍👍
A friend told me I hadn’t lived if I had never had the garlic bread from The Courtyard. She wasn’t wrong!
It was a lovely dinner destination. Fresh greens, great flavor on the steak, and of course, the garlic bread!
Without the recommendation from my friend, I may not have stopped just simply driving by. So glad I was able to sample a fabulous local gem.
I love this place! Nice atmosphere, wonderful service, and excellent food. You have to try the risotto!
Loved the warmed buttered garlic bread. Some of the best clam chowder I've ever had! Dishes made from scratch. My friend had the Shrimp & I had the Scallops. Both over a creamy langostino risotto with red bell peppers, scallions, parmesan & shallots.. Delish!!
The Prime rib is the best! And they were very helpful in attending to my wife's dietary restrictions. I look forward to another visit Alpena just for that house made bread and prime rib.
