Crackin' Crab

We love this place! Excellent service and of course great food. We order the seafood by the pound and find that your party plus one pound satisfies everyone. Medium Cajun sauce is the best. Fried catfish is excellent and so are the oyster appetizers. Never to packed and not loud at all. You can enjoy your meal.

If you're looking for the best seafood in New Mexico, Crackin' Crab is hands down the best there is. This new location is set in the heart of downtown Albuquerque and is conveniently placed right next to local breweries and silver street market! This area of Albuquerque is rapidly developing which makes Crackin' Crab an even more ideal place to go out downtown! The new Crackin' Crab is much more spacious, hip, and bright yet still has the same spectacular hospitality and delicious seafood! I've tried a number of things on the menu and I always leave with a huge smile on my face and an enormous food baby. Let's start with the oysters. I never thought I would be the kind of person who wants to gobble down oysters, but THESE oysters are phenomenal. The combination of the homemade chili sauce with the saltiness of the caviar and tiny bit of cilantro is an explosion of flavor that leaves your palette craving more. I could slurp down a whole tray of these and not feel bad about it whatsoever. They are decadent and crazy tasty! Now the seafood boil is where it's at. Fresh seafood is a rare sight here in the mountainous desert of New Mexico, but Crackin' Crab makes you feel like your on the coast of the sea. Crab legs, headless shrimp, scallops, mussels, potatoes, corn, and sausage... HEAVEN IN MY MOUTH. So juicy and flavorful! It's the crackin' sauce that really brings everything together. I'm pretty sure this sauce is a gracious gift from God that has blessed us with its existence... it's THAT good! I would suggest ordering a side of fresh warm bread to dip in the sauce. It's amazing!! I've also had a side of the sweet potato fries (so yummy!) and dipped them in the sauce as well which was outstanding. It is a food adventure which will blow your mind! Let's talk about the service. Everybody at the restaurant makes you feel at home. They are friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about their seafood. Not all of us are experienced with shell fish but no worries, the staff is more than happy to help with that!! They strive to give their customers the BEST experience ever which in my opinion is extraordinary. Whether you're looking for a place to take the family for a feast, a great date night location to impress that certain someone, a fun place to meet with your work colleagues, or just want to treat yo' self to a solo seafood extravaganza, Crackin' Crab is the perfect spot! I can go on and on about how freaking fantastic Crackin' Crab is, but you have to go in and check it out for yourselves. I promise you, you won't regret it and it will be your new favorite restaurant in ABQ!

Ordered some pricey sandwiches here. They were great. Everything else on the menu is a bit expensive for the sportsbar-esque atmosphere and especially for the neighborhood. If I'm dropping that kind of cash for seafood, I'm going to Pelican's.
