What a find! Found this place while searching for food when we visited Pearl Harbor Memorial.
It was slightly hard to find but the food was worth it. Not only was it delicious but it was filling. If you look at the photos, the rolls rise above the container! Even better news is that it’s because the filling/center is PACKED AND it’s delicious.
Flavorful and filling? Sign me up again.
If we go back to Oahu, this place is a must visit again for my wife and I.

Large rolls at great price!! They are very generous with ingredients and so many options. Taste was quite fresh, as well! We ordered 2 plates for 3 people, which even then, left all of us full. We will definitely visit again. :-)
So boom, we park, we look at the menu outside and then inside to order. The owner, I assume, is so friendly as he takes your order. Whatever my husband ordered was HIS favorite as well so he smiled. It was delicious and THICK ROLLS. Yummy all the way threw!
Sushi so good, it'll make you say 'Aloha!' Just had an incredible lunch at Makoto Sushi in Aiea, and I highly recommend trying their Royal Hawaiian roll. It's packed with fresh ahi, unagi , and shrimp tempura, and it's absolutely delicious. The owner was also super friendly and made us feel right at home.
One of my favorite casual sushi spots. It's a small spot with epic sized portions and unbeatable customer service!! The aunty and uncle that run the eatery are always so attentive and kind. We usually catch boba tea while we wait for our order. As soon as we walk back, everything is ready. And, now that the outdoor seating is opened, uncle even walked all our food out to greet us at one of the tables. My son who is ordinarily shy is always so excited to eat here and waves enthusiastically as we leave. He describes Makoto as the "big sushi place"! A definite must-stop at spot in Aiea.
Pro-Tip: don't skip out on the mandoo. They take a few minutes to cool down but taste is totally worth the wait!!
We come here often to get some great tasting and very affordable sushi plates. They serve the sushi in plate lunch style trays. They have a wide variety of fish and imitation crab options. We always get the hearts n fire that has a tempura roll covered with spicy imitation crab.
Great simple food at a great price.
Great hole in the wall place and one of the best tasting rolls I've had anywhere. The rolls are so good and very big - you really get your money's worth here. For two small people, it's probably enough to get one roll to share. It's just a couple working the place and only open at lunch. The man is super nice and I love supporting this local business.
Best Sushi rolls I’ve had! My picky daughter loves the gyoza dumplings. The owner is super friendly and kind. It’s a must have!
Fantastic food, great prices and the owners are amazing. Extremely friendly and helpful. One of those great finds that I hope never changes or gets over run with tourists.
The place was a little difficult to find but well worth it. It is in a parking garage which may sound like a red flag but it worked great. The dining area was clean the air was well ventilated so there were no fumes.
The food was great! Everyone in our group liked what they got. I don’t know when the last time was that I didn’t manage to clear my plate, but the portions here are so generous that I didn’t clear my plate.
I would absolutely recommend this place.
