We had a group of 17 college students which we were leading around Europe on a study abroad trip. We asked our hostel manager if there was a small family style restaurant nearby where we could bring the students for an authentic Italian family meal and he recommended Osteria del Porcino. My wife and I went the night before to test the place out and found the food to be fantastic and the waiter extremely friendly. We negotiated a 4 course meal with wine for a set price for 21 people and came back the next night for a wonderful family meal where the father and son team of Alessandro (the waiter) and Georgio (the chef) treated us like family. It was a wonderful experience and atmosphere and the food was delicious.

My girlfriend and I had our first night in Florence and decided to check out this place as it was a short walk to where we were staying. As soon as we entered we felt like part of the family! They may not have spoke the best English (which is expected!) but they tried their very best. The food was extremely tasty and perfect portions with reasonable cost!

It had barely opened (around 12pm) but still the waiter made everything to bring the food as fast as he could. The price was around 16€ for 2 dishes and a big beer, which was sweet in Florence. It seems that it is highly frequented by locals. Recommended and would come back.

A very good place to eat at 2 or with your friends. The prices are correct (less than 10€ for a good meal), the cook is very friendly and nice with you and there aren't too much noises. A good restaurant but reserve before because there are not a lot of chairs.

Nice prices and food. The pasta was a little to hard for my taste, but the sauce was nice. Nice meat. Spend around 15 euros (2 plates and 1 beer).

It's a little cute Osteria. The prices are normal (u get a primi piatti for about 6-8 €) and the food tastes very good! I was thrilled. But the picture on this site is not the best cause u don't see anything^^

Amazing Authentic Home made Italian food. Try their Tiramisu, one of the best I have had ever!!
