If you're reading this, it's likely that you are about to write an amazing review-or-are looking for a great place to eat. Here's the low-down:
House of Shah is absolutely amazing, from the moment of stepping through the doors you are immediately greeted by smells of distant lands and smiles of happy, warm staff. When it's time to belly up to the register (it's counter service), make sure to ask for Sal or his beautiful wife Juliana. He'll gladly take you on a tour of the menu. Finding out what you like and suggesting from their array of dishes to choose from to find your perfect meal. When it's time to find a seat you choose from takeout, seated inside, or to enjoy the beautiful weather on House of Shah's intimate patio overlooking downtown Woodland. While you can't go wrong with any choice on the menu, I ordered the Sirloin kebob while my wife ordered the Chicken kebob. (a tough decision since everything on the menu is delicious)
Both were seasoned and cooked perfectly, served with salad, rice, naan and two dipping sauces. (If you want the secret sauce, you'll have to ask about the jalapeno Serrano garlic sauce)
After mopping my plate clean with naan(my wife easily had left-overs) we considered dessert.
Afghan ice cream sundae. Vanilla ice cream topped with pistachios and rice noodles, ending with sweet cream and rose water.
While exiting and once again, receiving a warm goodbye, we took a lap around downtown woodland before heading back to Sacramento.
Fantastic food. Excellent prices. Friendly owner and staff. My fave is the chicken wrap & salad. Try it! You will love it.
Absolutely delicious food here! Lots of gluten free options. As having celiac disease I did not get sick 🎉
Will definitely be coming back for more, we ordered pickup, but the place seemed pretty quiet on a wednesday afternoon.
House of Shah is a Woodland staple and has amazing food! I love anything with the chapli (burger, kabob) and their salads are some of the best around!

We took our clients there today for lunch. It was clean, quaint, cute, and the staff was very helpful in explaining the menu items. Prices, selection, and quality was great. The food was a hit and it was fresh. We will offer this selection again to our Woodland clients when they are wanting to go get a bite to eat and willing to try something new. Thanks House of Shah, your staff were wonderful hosts today.
The food was great and portions were large. We had plenty leftover for later. My order was to go, but the server who took my order was very nice and made great suggestions.
There are plenty of vegan/vegetarian options available. I plan to return.
Great food! We asked for some authentic and popular dishes. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. We got three shared plates and one chicken dish. The eggplant was amazing. The dumplings were fantastic. Everything was delicious. $34 total. We ate outside to enjoy the good weather.
My only complaint was the chicken was a little dry. Otherwise no complaints at all!
Supposedly the wait for food can be a bit long but we didn't have any troubles, maybe because we weren't in a hurry.
Restaurant has a minimalist decor. Ordered the chapli kabob. A good dish and quite spicy. Pallow rice probably the best one. Menu options very straightfoward, but takes time to choose if you eat here for the first time.
