To be honest the first time we walked in around four years ago I almost turned around and said let's go! They advertise on their board Best Steamed Sea Food at the beach, I thought really from this little dive bar! Let me say they do have the Best steamed shrimp and crab dip in the area. Beer is very cold too! We love meeting the locals here, always a blast! Our go to place when visiting Carolina Beach! I was reluctant to post this as we wanted to keep this our little hidden gem!
Great place! The crab dip is amazing. I've been going there since the 70s. a lot of changes in layout since then, but still a great place with lots of memories.

Straight up bar with good appetizers. The Silver Dollar name fits this place well. We wandered in about 4pm looking for a snack after being on the beach for hours, and had surprisingly good appetizers and a nice glass of wine. OK - granted, we were really hungry, but still, it was good. Nice fresh shrimp cocktails, even though the shrimp were smaller than a regular restaurant, the sauce was really good; delicious house made hot crab dip with little toasted baguette slices; fried shrimp bites (like shrimp balls) and last but not least,, warmed brie cheese with toasted almonds, apple slices and little toasts. And GREAT service. Overall a fun experience in a little hole in the wall beach bar!
I’ve been going here for years and this is by far the best bar in Carolina beach! Such a great time every time. They have live karaoke and great vibes. And recently they’ve improved, adding new drinks and better staff. If you’re in CB, you have to stop by here if you are looking for a great time. Highly recommend!!
Actually came here 2 nights in a row. Came Thursday to watch the Hurricanes game and grab a bite. Unfortunately poor Jason was all by himself but he whipped up some peel and eat shrimp for us and they were good. Karaoke was a lot of fun and the bar was comfortable not crowded. Came back Friday night, different crowd, different Karaoke. Natasha was helping Jason and they had a good thing going. We had a wonderful time and Jason looked out for us both nights.
I didn’t even know they served food until I saw these reviews. Stopped here with a few friends for drinks and they had karaoke that night. We had a blast, the service was good. The atmosphere is beach chic dive bar.
Just moments away from Carolina Beaches beautiful shore is this amazing low key dive bar. Need to be a member to stay but that doesn't mean a thing because you can stay and enjoy a single sitting as a guest. Trust me, once you taste the delicious Blue Crab dip you will be more than willing to sign up. If you want to be smart about it during season take advantage of a mind blowing oyster shooter and ice cold Bud Light. Everytime I go I meet the friendliest people and the staff is incredible. Even in the fall when it's nice and chilly outside by the water, you can't go wrong stopping in for a warm welcome.
Love this place! Went for karaoke and had a blast. Amelia was wonderful. Tip: get the pizza shot, trust me
Silver Dollar is a longtime popular hangout bar at the Carolina Beach boardwalk that is probably best known for their karaoke. Many of our friends have had a drink and found the courage to sing badly at SD plenty of times. Just down the street from our shop at Satellite Army. They also support other local businesses and we are glad to be a client for their tech needs.
Fun dive bar. Jell-O shots are my go to. They’re made in house and in syringes. Highly recommend for a drink before hitting the beach

Natasha is the hardest working, customer focused lady bartender that I've experienced here! She is awesome!!! She is totally worked and under paid!!
Excellent staff! Personally my favorite place on the boardwalk. If you visit Carolina Beach I'd say this place is a must!!

UPDATE: while the coffee is in fact friggin magical, I feel like I should have probably described the bartenders & staff as friggin magical first & foremost. Describing them as merely excellent is the biggest disservice I can give to them as well as the bar itself. My bad. 🤦♀️🤷♀️🍻👩🎤😁
