Our first time at Jacky Chan Sushi, we sat at a booth and discovered the delicious, fresh sushi. We knew we would be back. Our second time, we sat at the sushi bar and we were blown away. Jacky chatted with us about all of the options, and then made us a gorgeous platter of sushi. We enjoyed watching Jacky delicately craft each item, and then we were amazed by the variety of flavors we experienced when we ate everything. We're so fortunate to have such a wonderful restaurant in our neighborhood.
When you go, ask for what Jacky recommends. He will steer you to what's the best on that day. Try the Red Dragon roll. And the hot sake at the end is the best way to finish.
I went there the other day and had a couple of rolls and the beef teppanyaki. Both were exceptional! The rolls were fresh and tasty, and you can easily tell the teriyaki sauce is made from scratch. Probably the best I've had in Wichita so far.
I had kind of avoided the place in the past because of the name (thinking of the movie star lol), but sad that I did, because it's great. Definitely going back for the Christmas buffet.
The fried rice is amazing! So many restaurants let it sit in a crock pot and get mushy, but at Jacky Chan it's hot off the grill. Crisp bean sprouts and piping hot rice, exactly what fried rice should be! I went through the drive through at lunchtime and the wait wasn't too bad, I've spent more time in line at McDonalds for food not nearly as fresh. I'd say it's the best lunchtime deal in the area. Give it a try, folks!
The newest sushi restaurant has opened up in Wichita to much fanfare. Jacky Chan Sushi (not a typo) opened on Good Friday and according to the owner, Binh Tran, he was surprised by how busy they were. He ran out of some food on Friday as he wasn’t sure what to expect on his first day.
Just when you thought the sushi boom in Wichita had hit critical mass, along comes Jacky Chan Sushi. This tiny place opened up in the spring of 2014 at Central and Oliver, replacing the small building that formerly housed Sit@Thai Express. What caught my attention about this place was the fact that the sushi chef(who goes by Jacky Chan) had previously worked at Kwan Court, one of our most missed former restaurants. Hot and Sour Soup: Can’t Complain About Free Soup This is an intimate setting with only a few tables in the small dining area. It is a nice change of pace from other sushi joints in town that rely on loud music and an open seating area for ambiance. The menu features a lot of options, but is not as overwhelming as some sushi menus that take several hours to fully comprehend. Jacky Chan also does not go overboard with the crazy deep fried rolls. While there are certainly some creative dishes, there is also a respect for the simplicity of traditional sushi. If someone in your
Stopped in for dinner. Owner was friendly and kind. Large menu selection. Place is clean.
Pictures is the Jacky Moki sushi. I don't like seaweed and asked for soy paper. He doesn't carry soy paper, but offered to roll it for me without seaweed. Absolutely perfect.
Will come back for sure.
Amazing. I bit into the Inari Avocado Boat and it was beyond delicious. Haven’t had something that yummy in months, wow. The fried rice is ACTUALLY fried rice with chopped toppings and fresh egg. So delicious. The vegetable tempura, great deal and awesome quality. Open until 3am Thur-Sat. Great prices. That huge pile of rice for $10. When I’d get a much sadder version at any hole in the wall and it would be a pint and at least $6-8. Jacky Chan, you’re my new spot. The staff are very nice!
Owner business(Japan)? is a nice classily. A manager is seem a good person. A food meal(chicken with fried rice or flavor on rice)was good and a price is not bad. My first time ordered with a son late after 11p.m.
Went in thinking I was going to be be sick, but was met by a friendly server and great food. Coming back soon
Online large order and learned they were short staffed. It was well worth the extra wait for the delicious rolls. We'll be sure to call ahead next time. Very happy with the food and service.
I came in between lunch and dinner hours with a friend, and so we had the place to ourselves. The food was wonderful, surprisingly fresh miso soup. I wasn't expecting the fresh kelp in Kansas but it was a wonderful surprise. I have never had such delicious miso. I will definitely be trying to come in again soon.
