This seems to be a local Ethiopian eatery where a lot of Ethiopians come to socialize. It was amazing sitting and watching them interact with each other as the come and go like family. I basically had a Vegetarian meal with injera and a samosa. The food was well seasoned and great as it should be cooked by Ethiopians. My server was very nice and attentive. I would definitely go back!!!

Great little hidden-gem on 7th St NW serving delish Ethiopian fare! The owner, Taye, runs an immaculate restaurant that used to be in Arlington. I do vegetarian after my gym workouts, and GLO never fails with a delightful to-go box including traditional bread (and plastic-ware/napkins). One one sit-down occasion, i brought my Nigerian brother in law visiting from Dallas, and he loved the African authenticity! Lentils, potatoes, and other veggies so very flavorful and in large proportions for good value. The waitresses are stunningly-sweet ladies, friendly with a smile, and will assist you patiently with making the ordering simple. Large screen TVs show various sports and entertainment from around the world. The dining room is a bit under lit, so best to choose the table by the window overlooking the busting sidewalk. *Highly recommended for trying your first experience with East African cuisine!*

Great lamb, great injera, great flavor, great service, and great prices. There's not much else you can say about this lowkey Ethiopian joint, it's just great. Don't come here if you are against being treated with warmth and kindness, or you don't like quick service, or if you don't want your belly to be full with a delicious and filling meal.

In the heart of Shaw/Logan circle northwest D.C. stands a lively restaurant and lounge with so much tradition and a ambiance that makes you feel you stepped into Addis Ababa. The scent of frankenscence makes the room come alive and the environment itself is just full of love. Allow me to get to get started with the food. I ordered a combination plate for 1 just for starts. At $16 dollars, frankly... It is worth every penny. The Injera is fluffy and the vegetables make you feel so good inside in this age of covid. The doro wat, What?!? That is the best I've ever tasted in over a long time. The Gomen Kitfo, legendary. The whole dish and restaurant is a experience I hope and pray they need to go and try them out. They put their hearts into this, and I can see, feel, taste and understand it.

Best Ethiopian food in the US. I sat at the bar and a regular patron ordered food for me. I ate spicy lamb, with sides of red and yellow lentils, washed down with an Ethiopian beer. If I lived in DC I’d eat there weekly.

So good. We didn’t know what to order so when the owner came by to say hi and see how we were doing, we told him this was out first time to eat Ethiopian. He took our menus and said he would take care of us. We trusted him and were not disappointed.
