Nice venue! Not too crowded. It has two levels one a standard tavern type place and below a medium sized venue great for cozy music acts! The down stairs houses the main bar and kitchen. Fare is light, pizzas and bar type food. Service was excellent! I'd recommend it. Lots of events ahead. Check out their website.

I went for Dev Lemons live show over the weekend. I didn't get a chance to experience the food or actual service of the place. But the show was fantastic. I loved the setting. Very hole in the wall like atmosphere that was just the perfect setting for the kind of show and type of music we were going to see. Dev Lemons put on one hell of a first show. She is very matter of fact. She does not plan, everything is from the top of her head. She is professional and personable. Very down to earth and was she made each of her fans feel special and individual instead of part of a larger group of that makes sense.

I saw Vola, Wheel and Bent Knee last night. Great venue, I had hot and sweet pizza. I really enjoyed it. I will be going back to see another show. Parking is the worst part. Nothing to with Union Stage, something to be aware of.

Amazing venue! Convenient location. Great staff. Intimate venue. Such a cool experience. Lacking a star because we paid for premium tickets that allowed us to sit in an area with tables and wait staff. The reserved area is in the back left of the venue. However, the area is not raised enough that when you are sitting you can see over the people standing in general admission. This was our first time visiting so we did not know what to expect but it was disappointing that we had a very hard time seeing the artist that we went to see. Mixed drinks were very expensive and mediocre. Tater tots were basic. We would definitely return to this venue but would decide whether in the future we just want to hear the music or actually be able to see the artist in order to select which ticket we would purchase. The only other small, less enjoyable note was the owner or someone of importance of us sitting at the table next to us with friends that he brought. They were talking a lot during the performances which took away from being able to enjoy the show, and their guest kept knocking into me with their chair.

Great small venue underneath a bar. They serve food but I haven't had it before. Last time I went they had a 6 dollar special on rum and coke. Ordered a rum and coke and the bill was 13 I realized after I paid. Apparently I "didn't order the special rum and coke so the discount doesn't apply". Needless to say I won't be purchasing alcohol here anymore after that. Just pregame in the parking garage with nobody looking, you'll save headache and money.

Always a good show at Union Stage, great small venue. I’ve seen some of my most favorite artists here. The drinks can be a little pricey but it’s DC so it’s normal for the area.

Personally, I didn't order any food from here so I don't know how good it is. But with that being said, I really enjoyed the concert. The stage is underground and the concert has a really chill atmosphere which can be partially attributed to the fact that it's not that big. Even with the sold out concert, there were many people but it wasn't to an inconvenient degree

Really great staff. Whether it’s the door, the bar, or the stage. Sound is good, whether it’s garage rock, blues, or jazz guitar. The food is great. We had the pepperoni, and balsamic something (?) pizza, tater tots (pretty basic), and a giant pretzel. Seated shows can be challenging if you don’t get there early. Photos are from Black Lips and Bloodshot Bill.

I can't speak for the booze or food, but as far as a standing venue goes you couldn't ask for a more intimate space to spend time with an artist/performer. Aside from the one pillar that can block your view near the entrance there's really not a bad spot in the house. We saw Jake Wesley Rogers and just felt connected with him due to the safe space he created and the intimate size of the venue. Security was kind and you could easily get your hands on water to stay hydrated. 5 stars just because where else can you see a great show with a capacity like this in a pedestrian friendly area. If I didn't give them 5 stars it would be based off of lack of AC. It's a basement and could use some moving air when your jam packed with people. An appropriate tempature keeps people from having extra medical/social anxiety. Also, the bar staff should know better than to dump ice when an artist is performing a quiet section of their set. This was disrespectful and an amateur mistake. Management should coach to this.

Didn't get food so can't vouch for that but is a great small concert venue. The show was sold out but there was plenty of room to move around - they didn't try to stuff the room to the max capacity which I like.
